What’s Coming in 2013: Music

My final article of What’s Coming in 2013 series focuses on the world of music.

Here are some of the big albums to keep an eye out for in 2013….

#willpower- will.i.am (Release date: February 4)

After much delay, will.i.am’s fourth solo studio album in six years will finally see the light of day!   So far, will.i.am has released incredible singles including “T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)” and “This is Love.” However, the biggest momentum that #willpower has going for it is the highly successful track: “Scream & Shout” featuring Britney Spears.   While the final track list has not been released yet, will.i.am has confirmed that he recorded with Chris Brown, David Guetta, Nicole Scherzinger and Demi Lovato.

Two Lanes of Freedom-Tim McGraw (Release date: February 5)

Tim McGraw’s 12th studio album will feature the country star singing the songs of an all-star group of writers including the Warren Brothers, Jaren Johnston, Shane McAnally and the LoCash Cowboys.  In addition, McGraw teamed up with Keith Urban and Taylor Swift for a collaboration called “Highway Don’t Care.”

All That Echoes-Josh Groban (Release date: February 5)

The incredible Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter will feature his takes on several classic songs including Stevie Wonder’s “”I Believe (When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever) and “The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress” plus collaborations with Laura Pausini and Arturo Sandoval.

Street King Immortal-50 Cent (Release date: February 25)

50 Cent will be returning to the radio waves in 2013! Eminem’s top protégé’s latest album will feature collaborations with Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, Chris Brown and Snoop Dogg plus tracks produced by Dr. Dre and DJ Felli Fel.

What About Now-Bon Jovi (Release date: March 26)

For the first time in four years, Bon Jovi will release a new studio album.  While details about the tracks, songwriters and co-producers have not been released yet, the New Jersey band will go on a worldwide tour to support their album.  Stops include Washington, D.C., Austin, Denver, Kansas City and Los Angeles.

Mariah Carey’s Untitled Album (Release date: March 2013)

The multi-award winning superstar and American Idol judge will be releasing her 14th studio album that is stated to be released sometime in March.  According to an article on Billboard.com, Ms. Carey stated she “would be collaborating with her favorite people” and added “that she would be loyal to her fans.”

Shakira’s Untitled Album (Release date: Summer 2013)

The Grammy-winning Columbian bombshell and new Voice judge will release her new album sometime this summer.  While track details are scarce, the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer has confirmed that she is collaborating with superstar producers RedOne, Benny Blanco, Akon and even LMFAO to produce a quality album that will satisfy both critics and fans.

 

Lady Gaga ARTPOP

ARTPOP-Lady Gaga (Release date: TBA)

Last month, Mother Monster confirmed that she has already written 50 songs for her studio album follow-up to Born This Way.  Rolling Stone has also confirmed that fans can expect ARTPOP to have multiple features in her third studio album including videos, bonus songs and games.
