Day six of the countdown features a good mix of Grammy-nominated songs from current chart toppers and hot singles from music veterans.

25. “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)” by Kelly Clarkson

The title track of the original American Idol’s fifth studio album was a power rock empowerment anthem that generated a lot of buzz on the Billboard charts because of Clarkson’s strong vocals, the empowering lyrics and Greg Kurstin’s production work.   Currently, the song is nominated for three Grammy Awards including Record of the Year.

Kelly Clarkson dropped by the first season of the U.S. version of “X Factor” to perform the title track.  To watch this performance, click here: http://youtu.be/BoRnbeluzQo

24. “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall” by Coldplay

One of the hottest songs of Summer 2011 was Coldplay’s “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall.”  This track had some incredible sounds coming from the rhythmic and electric guitars plus the drum solo at the end was just astonishing.   The track was nominated for two Grammy Awards last year.

David Guetta and Sia Titanium

23. “Titanium” by David Guetta featuring Sia

David Guetta’s 2011 studio album, Nothing But the Beat, produced very memorable collaborations with everyone from Jennifer Hudson to Chris Brown.  However, the best track off of his album is the dance pop track: “Titanium.”  Between the impressive lyrics, David Guetta’s incredible arrangement and Sia’s strong vocals, “Titanium” will give hope and inspiration to its listeners that will give them a confidence boost to deal with life’s issues and the dance floor.

22. “Turn on the Radio” by Reba McEntire

There is nothing better for music listeners than listening to a scorned woman.  Reba McEntire delivered a fiery break-up song about a fictional man who messed with the wrong country diva.

Reba performed the fiery track when she visited on the Late Show to promote her 34th studio album: http://youtu.be/WJEEkyfYndg

21. “Stand” by Lenny Kravitz

One of the most inspirational songs in this countdown is “Stand” by Lenny Kravitz.  The Grammy winner dedicated this track to a friend, who was paralyzed from the waist down, but eventually recovered from this ordeal.  Kravitz’s strong lyrics combined with the extraordinary musicianship shown throughout the single, made this track a standout on Kravitz’s 2011 album Black and White America.

I do not own the songs and videos that appear on this article.  They belong to the artists and their respective record companies.
