10.  Pumped Up Kicks-Foster the People

This song has been playing non-stop on Top 40 radio stations across the country since its’ September 2010 release.   “Pumped Up Kicks” has been used in different forms of media including popular T.V. shows Entourage and Gossip Girl.   The alternative rock band Weezer covered this song in August during their performance at the Orange County Fair.

9. Party Rock Anthem- LMFAO featuring Lauren Bennett and GoonRock

One of the best dance songs of the year came from two members of the legendary Motown founder Berry Gordy’s family.   DJ Redfoo (Gordy’s son) and SkyBlu (one of Gordy’s grandsons) have created a new version of ear candy when they teamed up with Lauren Bennett and GoonRock, which skyrocketed on not only U.S. music charts but international charts as well.

8. The Living Proof-Mary J. Blige

This song was the lead single to the hit movie The Help’s soundtrack.  Mary J. Blige brought passion and soul into this track.  This is the perfect example of how a song should be a guiding force on a film’s soundtrack.

7. Someone Like You-Adele

One of the strongest R&B ballards that were released this year was Adele’s “Someone Like You.”  This song combines powerful vocals with heartbreaking lyrics.

6. Till The World Ends (Femme Fatale Remix)-Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha

The title of best remix of 2011 belongs to this song.  Britney and her management team did a terrific job recruiting songwriter Ke$ha and rapper Nicki Minaj for this song.   As usual, Minaj delivered incredible raps while Ke$ha soared on the chorus.   The author would recommend this song for your workout remix.

5. Otis- Jay-Z & Kanye West featuring Otis Redding

Here’s the formula for the best rap song of the year: bring two powerful movers of the hip-hop/rap community together for an epic album and have them record a song featuring the voice of one of R&B’s legendary singers.  The result of this formula is “Otis.”

4.  On The Floor-Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull

Jennifer Lopez released her first studio album in four years and this track was her first single that helped her return to the top of the pop music scene.   In addition to Lopez’s great vocals, Pitbull dropped smooth raps into the song that complements this club song.

3. I Was Here-Beyoncé

“I Was Here” was written by legendary songwriter Diane Warren and produced by the R&B superstar and OneRepublic’s lead singer Ryan Tedder.   This song is a great track because it will motivate listeners think about how they are going to leave their legacy once they die.

2.  The Lady Is A Tramp- Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga

Duets II featured legendary singer Tony Bennett performs some of his favorite songs with music legends and rising stars.   One of the best duets that were recorded on the album was “The Lady Is A Tramp.”   Lady Gaga does have a great voice and fans are glad that Bennett was able to let Gaga’s vocal shine during this song.

1.    Rolling in the Deep-Adele

If music fans would describe 2011, some might call it-“The Year of Adele.”  This British songbird soared on her song: “Rolling in the Deep” and helped secured three of Adele’s six Grammy nominations.

  2. Aw, this was a very nice post. In concept I want to put in writing like this moreover ? taking time and actual effort to make a very good article? but what can I say? I procrastinate alot and on no account appear to get something done.
