I am very excited to present the fourth installment of my Five Question Challenge with the WBFF Pros!

All of these newly minted Pros received their statuses at one of the WBFF ‘s (World Beauty Fitness & Fashion, Inc.) most competitive shows, the US Central Show, in Kansas City.

Amy Gipson was among the competitors to earn her Pro Card in the show’s most competitive category: the Diva Bikini Model.

Jacob Elyachar: What were the factors that lead you to compete in the WBFF?

Amy Gipson: If anyone knows me at all, I am a very goal-driven and dedicated person by nature. If I am interested in doing something, I am going to give it my all and shoot for the stars. I think that I owe a lot to my friends at HitchFit for helping me to see these qualities about myself. To think, my journey all started with a mere goal of weight loss and continued on to competing with some of the most amazing athletes leaves me speechless to say the least. But, I must give credit where credit is due…my successful HitchFit transformations lead me to believe in myself and allowed me to not only become physically stronger but mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I never imagined I would compete, but provided the highest quality guidance and support from my family, friends, friends at HitchFit as well as, the KC Divas, my sponsor (Michael Shae Salon and Day Spa) and other competitors inspired me to compete in the most glamorous and exciting show around.

JE: What are the major similarities and differences between Diva Bikini Models and Diva Fitness Models?

AG: Let’s start with the differences. Obviously, if you have attended a show or watched a show the immediate difference is how the two groups present themselves on stage. A Diva Bikini Model will strut an evening gown whereas a Diva Fitness Model will strut theme wear. Furthermore, you will notice that Diva Fitness Models have a much better defined physique than the Diva Bikini Models (they tend to be softer). You can think of the Diva Bikini Models primarily judged on overall beauty, body shape and tone. The Diva Fitness Models are judged on factors such as overall marketability, physique, poise and confidence. With that said, both categories of women get to rock-out a banging jeweled bikini. Both work equally as hard and often times find themselves stumbling upon and overcoming the similar obstacles. And yes, many of the Fitness and Bikini Models are indeed friends as well as competitors.

JE: Could you please share a fitness tip to my readers?

AG: It is important to ensure we all understand that every single body is different. Depending on your gender and age, how you approach fitness is different. Ideally, without going into too much detail, I feel that there are four main variables to achieve healthy and rewarding results. These variables are: proper nutrition, strength/weight training, cardiovascular work and a positive attitude. From experience, I find that all of these must be present and work in conjunction with each other. Without one, you will lack in another.

JE: For a majority of the WBFF Pros, the next change is the WBFF World Championships in Las Vegas. What are you looking forward the most about this show?

AG: While I have currently decided to not make my Pro debut (that is still so amazing to say and write) at the WBFF World Championships in Las Vegas this August, I do look forward to watching the show! My reasoning behind this decision is due to some pre-planned goals that I have been striving to meet for some time now and now is the time to conquer those. I cannot help but think that this is the right decision for me at this time. I do think that watching the upcoming Vegas show will in fact help me to gauge what I will need to do to compete with other Pros alike…after all the Pro level are THE BEST OF THE BEST! Then, in the near future, I venture to say I will make it to that Pro stage. Given my decision, what I am most looking forward to are the amazing and beautiful suits, gowns and theme wear. Not to mention all the friends who will be appearing on that stage that I get to cheer for. I am so proud of them all!

JE: How would you describe the WBFF to people who have not heard about the organization?

AG: The World Beauty Fitness & Fashion Inc. (WBFF) is an international organization, which promotes health and fitness. The WBFF supports an elite group of athletes who strive to compete with others alike. The WBFF shows can be described as Victoria Secret Fashion show meets muscle. They are the most glamorous and entertaining shows around. Those who are a part of the organization no matter the age, gender, ethnicity, etc. are considered not only great friends but also often times comrades.
