Have you heard of Planet Comicon?
Planet Comicon is Kansas City’s largest pop culture convention that happens every spring.
Last year, Planet Comicon expanded to Bartle Hall, where thousands of pop culture aficionados got to rub shoulders with their favorite creators and media guests.
However, here are several special announcements that will make you come travel to Kansas City to attend this convention…
One extra day!
For the past couple of years, Planet Comicon was on Saturday and Sunday! Now, the fun has increased for an entire weekend! The 2014 Planet Comicon will start on Friday, March 14 from Noon to 7 p.m. and will have its usual Saturday and Sunday hours.
The comic guests
Fans will have the opportunity to meet their favorite creators! Several Planet Comicon mainstays including Rick Stasi, Rick Burchett, Paul Kupperberg and Don Rosa’s returns have been announced on the event’s website and social media! In addition, fan-favorite creators Scott Snyder, Skottie Young, Rick Remender, Jason Aaron and Tony Moore are expected to be at Bartle Hall as well!
Media all-stars
Planet Comicon has always been able to attract a diverse group of geekdom royalty from James Marsters and Ray Park to George Takei and Wil Wheaton. This year’s media guests are some of the most well-known names in both the classic [Margot Kidder (Lois Lane), Lee Majors (The Six Million Dollar Man) and John Ratzenberger] and modern [Wheaton, Grant Bowler and Chad Coleman] film and television worlds.

Star Trek: Next Generation reunion
One of the biggest events will take place on Sunday, March 16! Six members of the Star Trek: The Next Generation cast (LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis and Brent Spiner) will reveal some of their most memorable moments from the show and answer fans questions! Guiding the conversation will be none other than Captain Kirk himself…. WILLIAM SHATNER!
Cosplayers: Assemble!
Every year, cosplayers have been stepping up their game! Thanks to the success of the SyFy Channel television show, Heroes of Cosplay, the convention is expected to see a larger turnout this year! In addition, two Cosplay superstars Chloe Dykstra and Meg Turney are expected to attend and very excited about seeing Kansas City’s finest cosplayers in action!
