Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again! The Masked Singer is back for its ninth season! Last week, Medusa slithered her way to the top spot knocking out Mustang and Gnome from the competition. While I was surprised to see Sara Evans unmasked as Mustang, the world’s collective jaw dropped when entertainment icon and Emmy, Grammy, and Tony-winning actor Dick Van Dyke was revealed as the Gnome!

Tonight, FOX’s favorite undercover celebrity singing competition celebrated the music of ABBA! Two new characters faced off to take Medusa’s crown and earn a place in the Masked Singer: Season Nine finale. Did any of our panelists (Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg) deduce the eliminated performers’ true identities? Read on to find out!

After the Masked Singer panel made their entrances, Nick reminded them about the bell, allowing a panelist to save a performer from unmasking. Reigning champion Medusa went first, and her pre-performance package showed a photo of Chris Martin and Buckingham Palace. She sang “Dancing Queen,” I thought I heard Joss Stone’s voice. Jenny declared that Medusa was her favorite contestant. Tonight, Nick Viall presented the clues. Her clue was a flight ticket with “Flight 1996” to Tokyo. Nicole guessed Lorde or Tove Lo, while Robin guessed Apple Martin, and Ken suggested Dakota Johnson.

The Night Owl graced the Masked Singer stage. In her pre-performance package, she broke records and paved the way for “Britney, Christina, and Nicole.” She also appeared on Broadway and featured an hourglass as a clue. Night Owl sang “Fernando” for her chance to stay in the competition. When I heard her sing the classic ABBA tune, I thought I heard Kylie Minogue’s voice. Robin called the performance “effortless.” Napoleon handed Nick a clue that stated “bubble gum.” Jenny suggested Debbie Gibson, while Nicole guessed it was her longtime friend Paula Abdul. Finally, Robin and I were on the same page as he also thought Kylie Minogue.

Rock Lobster made their debut on The Masked Singer! There was a Monster doll, two joker cards, and a neurotic mess. He sang “SOS,” I thought it was the legendary Marc Summers. While it was one of the worst performances in show history, the panelists immediately knew the performer’s true identity. Shangela brought out Rock Lobster’s clue – a gavel. Ken guessed AGT judge Howie Mandel, while Nicole thought it was Martin Short, and Robin suggested Steve-O. After the audience voted, the Rock Lobster met his “Waterloo.” Robin doubled his guess of Steve-O, and Jenny and Nicole guessed Martin Short. Ken also stood by his guess of Howie Mandel. It turned out that Ken was right...HOWIE MANDEL WAS ROCK LOBSTER!

The second Battle Royale of Masked Singer: Season Nine was between Medusa and Night Owl. Tonight, they sang “The Winner Take It All.” Medusa’s cover gave me chills. Meanwhile, Night Owl infused pop into her cover.

The panel voted to advance Medusa to New York Week as Howie handed Medusa her scepter. Ken suggested Sarah Jessica Parker, Robin stood-by his guess of Kylie Minogue. Nicole suggested Belinda Carlisle and Jenny stood by her guess of Debbie Gibson. Jenny was right…Night Owl was music icon Debbie Gibson!
