America’s Got Talent (AGT): Season 17 has been a massive roller coaster from the first auditions to the last qualifier round. Since Jake’s Take’s inception, we have revealed our favorite music moments almost every season. So, without further ado, here are some of the best music moments of the season!

#9- Growlers Choir: “O Fortuna” & “Toxic”

Canada’s Growlers Choir spooked the AGT audience and judges with their scary renditions of “O Fortuna” and Britney Spears’s “Toxic.” The choir of heavy metal singers’ audition was one of the best and most unexpected choir performances I have seen in my years of watching and covering the NBC talent competition. I honestly wished that they advanced to the Season 17 live shows. Hopefully, we can see them on Canada’s Got Talent in the future.

#8 – Ben Waites: “True Colors”

Speaking of acts that did not advance to the AGT: Season 17 live shows, I am still upset that vocal coach Ben Waites did not perform for America’s votes. The Southern Gospel singer’s haunting rendition of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” made Sofia Vergara emotional and gave the audience chills.

#7 – Mia Morris: “We Were Never Friends”

I am so proud of Jake’s Take friend Mia Morris for competing on AGT! The multi-instrumentalist showcased her talent during the third week of the Season 17 qualifiers with a rousing rendition of “We Were Never Friends.”

#6 – NFL Players Choir: “Can’t Stop the Feeling”

The NFL Players Choir raised the roof with their rousing rendition of Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling.” This performance gave me chills and made me want to dance. God, I wish they made the AGT: Season 17 finale.

#5- Travis Japan’s Run:

AGT: Season 17 contained potential household names. J-pop boyband Travis Japan is one of them. The septet blew me away with their audition song: “My Dreamy Hollywood,” thanks to their harmonies and vocals. Despite being buzzed by Howie Mandel, Travis Japan delivered an award-winning worthy performance of their original song: “Party Up Like Crazy” in the final Season 17 qualifying rounds. I can see Travis Japan being on the same level of success that both BTS and Monsta X are experiencing.

#4- The Pack Drumline’s Run:

The Pack Drumline is another act that I wished made it to the Season 17 finale. This incredible group of drummers delivered Vegas-worthy performances every time they stepped onto the AGT stage. The Chicago-based drumline set the standard for other marching bands who audition for the NBC talent competition for years to come.

#3 – Drake Milligan’s Run:

The Fort Worth, Texas native, is another one of AGT’s breakout acts of Season 17! Drake Milligan and his band performed original songs: “Sounds Like Something I’d Do” and “Kiss Goodbye All Night.” Drake’s vocals are amazing, and these songs are worthy of being included on various radio and streaming playlists. I am so happy that he made the Season 17 finale; win or lose, Drake will have a substantial career in the music industry.

#2 – Avery Dixon’s Run (Terry Crews’ Golden Buzzer Act):

Saxophonist Avery Dixon was one of Season 17’s first breakout acts. Before his performance, I was rooting for him to do well, especially after hearing his rough backstory. But once he started playing “Try a Little Tenderness,” I was in awe of the 21-year-old’s masterful ability to play the saxophone. He followed up that superb performance with a rousing rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground” that cemented his place as one of his generation’s top instrumentalists.

#1- Chapel Hart’s Run (The Group Golden Buzzer Act):

County music trio Chapel Hart is probably one of the best music acts AGT has discovered since Simon joined the Judges panel in 2016. This group’s original tune, “You Can Have Him, Jolene,” brilliantly delivered the answer to Dolly Parton’s iconic “Jolene” but also showcased the trio’s beautiful harmonies. After receiving the group’s Golden Buzzer, the trio delivered a spectacular performance of their “The Girl Are Back in Town.” It was an award show-caliber performance and cemented the trio as one of the best music acts to appear on a Got Talent stage this decade. I cannot wait to see what they do after AGT.

What were your favorite music moments from AGT: Season 17? Who do you want to see join Bianca Ryan, Terry Fator, Mat Franco, Darci Lynne, Shin Lim, Kodi Lee, Brandon Leake, and Dustin Tavella in the Winners’ Circle?
