America’s Got Talent (AGT): Season 16 is finally going live from the Dolby Theatre. Before he takes the Dolby Theatre stage, I had the chance to speak with Sofia Vergara’s Golden Buzzer act – the talented Jimmie Herrod.

Jimmie is a Pacific Northwest-based artist and performer who splits his time between Portland, Oregon, and Paris, France. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in music composition and performance from the Cornish College of the Arts. He also received his Masters’ Degree in Jazz Studies from Portland State University.

Jimmie Herrod worked in Seattle’s musical theater community, participating in productions with ArtsWest and the 5th Avenue Theater. He was also a featured soloist when the Oregon Symphony participated in the 2018 TedX series. In addition, Jimmie performed with ODESZA and is a regular guest vocalist for Pink Martini. He accompanied the group to tours across the United States, Canada, and around the world.

In the tenth edition of Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar’s AGT: Season 16 podcast series, Jimmie spoke about his decision to go against Simon Cowell’s wishes to sing Annie’s iconic anthem: “Tomorrow,” and his reaction when Sofia Vergara pressed the life-changing Golden Buzzer.
