One of Kansas City’s hottest summer concerts is back!

Mix 93,3’s Red, White and Boom will be returning to the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater on Saturday, June 27.

The summer concert series has brought together countless recording artists from all genres of music. Mix 93.3 has also exclusively brought several artists when they were just starting out to entertain concertgoers. Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor are among the lucky artists that showcased their impeccable talent before they found YouTube and Billboard success!

In this edition of Jake’s Take On, I dove deep into this year’s line-up and what roles several artists might play at this year’s show:

Flo Rida: No stranger to Kansas City, the “Wild Ones” singer co-headlined the very first Dancefestopia three years ago! He recently released his fourth EP: My House, which features collaborations with Chris Brown, Robin Thicke and Verdine White. I have a strong feeling that Flo Rida’s set might feature a bulk of his tracks from My House and sprinkle some of his classics such as “Low,” “Whistle” and “Right Round” throughout his set!

Cash Cash: New York-based DJs/Producers Jean Paul Makhlouf, Alex Makhlouf and Samuel Frisch’s profiles are skyrocketing with two of their tracks in the top 100 iTunes Dance Chart and over 138,000 subscribers on YouTube. The “Take Me Home” artists will bring a unique energy to Red, White and Boom that I have not seen in years.

Olly Murs: Mix 93.3 did a terrific job recruiting the former X Factor UK alum to join this spectacular line-up! Olly’s latest album, Never Been Better, is not only one of my favorite pop albums of 2015, but it also spun out several successful collaborations: “Wrapped Up (featuring Travie McCoy)” and “Up (featuring Demi Lovato).” The “Troublemaker” singer will be able to stir up some fun at this year’s festival.

Natalie La Rose:
Hailing all the away from Amsterdam, Ms. La Rose was discovered by Flo Rida and is currently signed to a recording contract with the Universal Music Group’s Republic Records. Her latest single, “Somebody (featuring Jermih)” is burning through the charts and was placed in the Top 10 in iTunes’ Pop Charts. Her funky personality would definitely make people smile.

Andy Grammer: A Kansas City fan-favorite artist is returning to the metro! Andy Grammer rocked the Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland as part of the Salvation Army’s Rock the Red Kettle Concert in 2012. His infectious tunes such as “Fine By Me,” “Honey, I’m Good” and “Keep Your Head Up” each landed on Billboard’s Adult Top 40 chart and would energize the crowd on a hot summer day.

Tori Kelly: Another rising star that will be gracing the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater stage is Tori Kelly. With over 1,080,000 YouTube subscribers and a resume that includes collaborations with Max Martin, Pentatonix, Pharrell Williams and Professor Green under her belt, plus experience opening for both Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, the “Nobody Love” singer will definitely make her mark at Red, White and Boom.

LunchMoney Lewis: Miami rapper & producer LunchMoney Lewis will join fellow Florida rapper at Red, White & Boom this year! After working with Dr. Luke and co-wrote hits for Jessie J and Fifth Harmony, LunchMoney broke onto the scene with his appearance on Nicki Minaj’s The Pinkprint and his latest single: “Bills” reached the iTunes Top 50 Overall Music Chart.

Who Is Fancy?: This pop artist caught the attention of three music heavyweights Scooter Braun, Scott Borchetta and Dr. Luke and was immediately signed to Big Machine Label Group and Prescription Songs respectively. After a high-profile appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the Arkansas native will definitely stir up fans at Red, White & Boom!

Ryn Weaver: It has been a busy year for Ryn Weaver. First, she took the stage at Late Show with David Letterman; next, a performance at Coachella; But on June 27, Ryn Weaver is looking to conquer Mix 93.3’s Red, White & Boom! Her music video of hit: “OctaHate” received over 1,170,089 views on YouTube and broke onto the Overall iTunes Music Chart. I am excited to see what the Interscope Records artist has in store for this concert!

Cody Simpson: At just 18-years-old, Cody Simpson remains one of the best artists of his generation. From his appearance on Dancing with the Stars to his tours with Justin Bieber and Big Time Rush, Simpson’s soulful pop rock tracks such as “New Problems” would probably receive the warmest and loudest reception of the night!

Is ed sheeran going to be at red white and boom this year? Because that same night, he’s going to be with the rolling stones. And I’m going to that concert. If ed is coming, I have to get tickets. I didn’t know if he is going to go there after the stones concert or what, but if he is there, I have to go.
