Tonight, five acts’ lives were changed forever. Terry Crews announced that these five acts were voted by America’s votes to advance to the AGT: Season 14 finale. Two people that already know the feeling of being in the finale are Season 12 champion Darci Lynne Farmer and finalist Preacher Lawson. The duo returned to entertain the Dolby Theatre audience to sprinkle out between the results.
Who were the acts that followed in Darci and Preacher’s footsteps? Which act needed the Dunkin’ Save? Who received the second to last Judges’ Save of AGT: Season 14? Read on to find out!
The show kicked off with a brief recap of Sean Hayes’ visit to AGT, which included behind the scenes footage. Several of the acts were unhappy with Simon and Julianne’s snarky remarks on some of the performances. Before they got to the results, it was time to reveal who was nominated for the Dunkin’ Save. The acts that were in danger of elimination were NDLOUV Youth Choir, Light Balance Kids, and Robert Finley. Before the live show, I picked all three of these acts picked as my favorite Season 14 acts.
As the AGT audience voted for the Dunkin’ Save, three acts received the news that they advanced to the Season 14 finale. Kodi Lee, Benicio Bryant, and Tyler Butler-Figueroa the first three acts that made it to the finale. While I am happy for Kodi, I personally believe that Jackie Fabulous and the Messoudi Brothers should have had earned Benicio and Tyler’s spots.
Meanwhile, in the pre-performance package, Preacher Lawson showcased his jealousy when he reunited his Season 12 rival (and winner) Darci Lynne Farmer. From the restaurant to the Dolby Theatre, everyone was so enthralled with the young Shari Lewis in training. Preacher kicked off the evening with a mini-set that talked about losing the $1,000,000 cash prize to Darci Lynne. As Preacher exited the stage, AGT icon Jon Dorenbos visited the Los Angeles Rams to showcase his magic. After the former NFL superstar plugged Thursday Night Football, Darci Lynne returned to the Dolby Theatre and performed “It’s a Man’s World” with Petunia.
After the Dunkin’ Save voting period ended, it was time for Terry to reveal the fourth set of finalists. He told that Light Balance Kids received the fourth spot into the finale. This left Robert Finley and NDLOVU Youth Choir’s fates in the judges’ hands. Gabrielle kicked off the vote by voting for NDLOVU and Julianne joined her. Meanwhile, Howie voted for Robert…Simon gave the last spot to NDLOVU Youth Choir.
Next week, Queen Latifah joins Simon, Howie, and the ladies at the Judges’ Desk as the remaining semifinalists perform for a spot in the AGT: Season 14 finale.
