After Friday’s artists took the Dancefestopia stage by storm, I had high expectations about Day Two of Kansas City’s high-energy music festival.

When I arrived at Dancefestopia, I saw dozens of concertgoers with panda masks covering their faces.    These panda masks are the calling cards of the Baltimore-based Secret Panda Society.  Rob Stern and Joe Benny combined several familiar tracks along with rave favorites that got the Dancefestopia audience moving.

Another rising act that I was impressed with was the Los Angeles-based electro-pop group: Hyper Crush.    The group is composed of Donny Fontaine, Holly Valentine and Preston Moronie.   They were solid performers that had strong stage presence and their ability to move a crowd was unsurpassable.

Two Colorado bands successfully invaded Dancefestopia.   The first 303-based band to take the stage was Breathe Carolina.   Kyle Even and David Schmitt brought the best in electronic music to the stage by mixing interesting combinations that included house music with heavy rock screaming.   Breathe Carolina played several of their songs from their three albums before closing with their signature song: “Blackout.”

30H!3 was the second Colorado band to take the stage and they rocked the house.  While band members Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte performed, many Dancefestopia concertgoers sang and danced along to their various hits including “Starstrukk (which Katy Perry’s backing vocals were mysteriously cut),” “My First Kiss (with Ke$ha’s vocals in tact)” and “Don’t Trust Me.”

Dancefestopia’s first festival was filled with incredible performances from diverse artists and this author hopes that next year’s Dancefestopia will feature more incredible acts that will bring out more concertgoers.
