“I just keep fighting the good fight.”-Bob Pressner

That motto continues to drive the New York rocker to achieve greatness within the music industry.

Recently, Bob released his fourth studio album: King of Nothing, which marked his first collaboration with celebrated music producer Jim McGorman (Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne), who paired the rocker with a diverse group of musicians to create 13 amazing tracks.

After releasing the album, Bob had the opportunity to perform at a full house at South By Southwest.   That appearance at the massive pop culture event lead to his own Comcast OnDemand produced concert: Bob Pressner at Infinity Music Hall, which was ranked number one in its market.

In addition to all of his accomplishments, Bob’s music videos have been viewed over 38 million times on YouTube and has a strong social media following.

Jacob Elyachar: When did you realize that you wanted to have a career in music?

Bob Pressner: I realized I wanted to have a career in music when I was 17 years old.  I had a spiritual advisor who put a guitar in my hands and told me I was destined to move people through music.  That was the beginning…

JE: Who are your major musical heroes? How did they influence your career?

BP: My musical heroes would have to be Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen for their poeticism and the Beatles and Bono for what they represent and give/gave back to the world.

JE: What is the story behind your song: “The Blue Has Left Your Eyes”?

BP: I’m going to have to take a little bit of poetic license and not tell all…sometimes you can look in a loved ones eyes and just from a glance, you can see the love has changed.  I’ll leave it at that.

JE: Could you please describe your recording process with my readers?

BP: My recording process is always evolving.  I would say I’m primarily a lyricist.  Words are what move me, what turn me on.  In recent years, I’ve looked to collaborate with major producers, however in the past few months I’ve gone a totally different route and built a home studio.  I’m really enjoying being able to put my ideas down in a home studio on any day of the week, at any hour of the day.

JE: How has social media helped your career?

BP: For me, social media has been almost everything.  Social media is in some ways random and in some ways speaks the truth.  It has allowed me to share my music with tens of millions of people from all around the world.  Without social media these opportunities simply were not possible.
