Wendy Williams’ no-holds bar Sit Down Tour…Too Real For Stand-Up Tour made a pit stop in Kansas City last night at the Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland.

For those attendees who were expecting the Daytime Emmy-nominated talk show host and media maven to do a whole hour of Hot Topics, they should have paid close attention to Wendy’s cautious warnings about this tour…. as she specifically stated on many episodes of her talk show that they would be seeing “Raw,” “Uncut” and (as DJ Ominaya put it) “Kitchen Table Talk” Wendy!

When she graced the stage around 9:00 p.m., Wendy stunned the audience with her scantily black outfit that would eventually be burned after the tour. For 51-years-old, Wendy is one hot tamale and her luscious legs could give an in-her-prime Tina Turner…. a run for her money!

As a quasi-new passenger on the Wendy Williams Express (I began to watch the Hot Topics portion of The Wendy Williams Show back in November 2014 and the rest of the segments soon followed), I was extremely interested to hear about her juiciest adventures in both her personal life and the entertainment industry. Wendy did not disappoint! I was extremely intrigued about her opinion about the lack of feel good music in today’s society. Just like Wendy, I do not like how today’s artists sing or rap about doing the deed. For example, she called out Usher for putting: “If you dance on a pole, that don’t make you a hoe” in his single: “I Don’t Mind.” Wendy perfectly stated from her years of attending strip clubs: “If you dance on a pole, it makes you a hoe.”

Attendees also got Wendy’s take on several oddball subjects such as sexy serial killers. I was almost afraid to laugh when Wendy polled the audience on which murderer was hotter: recently escaped Mexican drug lord El Chapo, Scott Peterson or disgraced former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez. Before she dropped the subject, Wendy added that he really “expletive up” a NFL career that many men dream about.

Speaking of men, Wendy shared her opinions on why her two Kevins will never appear on her show and her gross encounters with uncircumcised ex-lovers. She also mentioned that she is already over Caitlyn Jenner, but strongly advised the recent Arthur Ashe Courage Award recipient to keep her cock and debunked Dr. Oz’s theory about pussies being “self-cleaning ovens.”

In addition to Wendy, audiences were treated to additional comedy from Roy Wood Jr. who was the opening act. The TBS and ESPN star brilliantly played to the Kansas City crowd as he talked about struggling to find the perfect barbecue joint due to the confusing Exit Twos and why the Miami Dolphins might “recruit” fans to play the Kansas City Chiefs when the football teams collide in the near future.

I also admired Mr. Wood’s commentary on recent current events that ranged from the Confederate flag coming down from the South Carolina capitol building to the shocking behavior of police officers. He even rued the day McGruff the Crime Dog was created. His set also included jokes about McDonalds “nickel & diming” everyone, what remaining 80s icons have skeletons in their closet and his problems with overly creative wedding invitations.

Rounding out the trio of performers were DJ Ominaya, who serves as both Wendy’s house DJ for both the talk show and the Sit Down Tour…Too Real For Stand-Up. He definitely encouraged audiences to get up and dance as he played a diverse group song selections that ranged from Lauryn Hill’s “ Doo-Wop (That Thing)” and DeBarge’s “Rhythm of the Night” to Gwen Stefani’s “Rich Girl” and Maroon 5’s “One More Night.” I admit that I danced in my seat while the audience was heading into the theatre.

Final thoughts & grade: The Sit Down Tour…Too Real For Stand-Up is an impeccable comedic experience that would please veteran and newcomer Wendy fans alike! I also want to thank Wendy, Roy, DJ Ominaya and the entire crew for an amazing evening! Bravo everyone! A
