Attention Voice fans…Season 13 is finally live!

After countless Blind Auditions, surprising steels in both the Battle and the Knockout Rounds, and heartbreaking eliminations during the Season 13 Playoffs, The Voice: Season 13 went live from Universal Studios Hollywood.

Which artists were able to handle the additional pressures of performing live? Who soared with the eagles? Which artists might have to sing for the Instant Save? Read on to find out!

Team Miley’s Brooke Simpson kicked off the Season 13 Live Shows with Kesha’s “Praying.” I am happy that Brooke is inspiring other Native Americans to step up to the plate and follow their passions. Brooke Simpson delivered a strong opener and watching her reminded me of watching Kelly Clarkson perform “I Surrender” on American Idol. Her vocals were out of this world! Kesha would be proud. A

Red Marlow has a vintage country voice that is missing in today’s country music industry. He dedicated his performance of “The Church on Cumberland Road” to his father, who taught him his love of music. Red has a good voice, and he is going to connect well with my fellow Midwesterners and bluegrass fans, but the main obstacle that Red needs to overcome is to convince the Pacific Northwest and the New England region that he should stay in the Live Shows. B

Shi-Ann Jones butchered Mariah Carey’s “Vision of Love” on The Voice. It was appalling and the worst performance I have ever heard on The Voice. Also, I believe that Cassadee Pope, Jordan Smith, Sisaundra, and friends to the blog: Chris Mann, Frenchie Davis, Billy Gilman, and Kim Yarbrough would be better candidates to become the next generation of Voice coaches! F

Team Adam’s Jon Mero dedicated Major’s “Why I Love You” to his hometown of Des Moines and his church. Why I have not heard of Major or this song, I was truly blown away by Jon’s falsetto and his unique ability to switch in and out of it. Also, he gave me chills. I truly believe that Jon is this season’s dark horse. A

I believe that Moriah Formica was robbed! She ran circles around the remaining Team Miley artists (minus Janice and Brooke) and Ashland Craft’s “Delta Dawn” was horrible! F

I was a little surprised that Adam assigned Adam Cunningham: “Against All Odds.” This Phil Collins hit has been sung too many times on Reality TV, and I was very hesitant that he would sing this song.  While I appreciate the country twist to the song, Adam lost me with his performance. C-

I love Chloe Kohanski. She has been a force to be reckoned with during the Blind Auditions, Knockout Rounds, and the (Live) Playoffs. However, I was a little concerned when I heard that Chloe would be tackling “Thank You.” Her vocals were all over the place, and I genuinely believe that Blake sabotaged her chances and I think she may have to sing for the Instant Save. Jennifer gave Davon Fleming one of the most challenging songs that an artist could sing: Beyonce’s “Love on Top.” Davon dedicated his performance to his hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. I could see this as a radio hit, and Davon rose to the occasion! A-

Addison Agen chose Sara Bareilles’ “She Used to Be Mine.” The Fort Wayne, Indiana singer, chose this song and hit it out of the park. Addison has a great voice for her age and like Miley stated that she is going to be here towards the end of the competition. B+

Keisha Renae sang a countrified “Midnight Train to Georgia” and delivered a gorgeous vocal performance that would earn Gladys Knight’s blessing.  This girl is going to be in the finale! Keisha has an outstanding voice and like Jennifer said, “her voice is like silk!” A+

Team Jennifer’s Noah Mac chose an interesting song to perform during the first Live Show of Season 13. While I adore Coldplay, “Speed of Sound” is not my cup of tea. However, Noah transformed the song in a way that Chris Martin would have approved. Like Jennifer stated in the pre-performance package, Noah is ready for the recording industry. A-

Team Miley’s Janice Freeman concluded the first Season 13 live show with a powerful cover of Brandi Carlile’s “The Story.” Janice’s voice blew me away, gave me chills, and almost made me weep! I pray that this powerful woman makes it to the Season Finale, because it is time for an adult to win this show! A+

Tomorrow night, Who will be the first Voice: Season 13 artist to be saved from elimination?
