America’s Got Talent: Season Nine might go down as the season with the most audition episodes ever!

This season, the judges (Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Mel B) traveled to Newark, New York and Los Angeles to seek out the next million-dollar-act and Vegas headliner.

Who had their superstar moment tonight? Read on to find out…

After the Psychic Divas of New York failed to win over the judges with their creepy act, it was all up to Mike Super to avenge the supernatural acts. He was a mystifier, who had an imaginary friend named Desmond, who has been with him for his entire life. He introduced Desmond to the AGT audience and used Heidi as an assistant. After gathering enough energy, Desmond made an appearance by breaking the glass pitcher. The judges were speechless and sent Mike through.

So far this season, there has not been enough of danger acts! Hoping to change all of that were Bulgarian husband and wife Valo and Bobby! The audience held their breath when Valo lifted his wife up into the air in a contraption and he balanced her with his hand! This act was superb and it received the first four judge-standing ovation of the night!

11-year-old Mara Justine is the youngest sibling in her family. She spent a majority of her life singing around the house. Now, she decided to audition for America’s Got Talent! My jaw dropped in awe when she hit the first few bars of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.” It reminded me of AGT’s inaugural winner, Bianca Ryan, and Jessica Sanchez. Like Bianca and Jessica, Mara had golden pipes that gave the audience chills! Mel B stated that Mara raised the bar for all of the singers in the competition.

After the judges made fun of Howie’s jeggings, it was time for the first contortionist of the season to make her debut. 36-year-old former Swiss ballerina Nina Burri astonished the judges with her routine to Sia’s “Chandelier.” Howard stated that it was the best contortion in three seasons. Nina’s four “yeses” also inspired the judges to put through more acts.

Every act wants to perform on the Radio City Music Hall! Among the acts that want that opportunity are brothers Emil and Dariel. Their grandfather taught both of them how to play the cello since they were young boys. The young men impressed everyone with a beautiful cover of a Jimi Hendrix classic! One of my all-time favorite acts from AGT is Nuthin’ But Stringz and what Emil and Dariel did is on par with their audition. I strongly predict that they would be in the Top 20!

One of my favorite YouTube videos that I love to watch was Alex Boye’s Africanized tribal cover of Frozen’s Let It Go.” That video also starred the Salt Lake City-based One Voice Children’s Choir. Tonight, the choir decided to audition for AGT. They performed Ellie Goulding’s “Burn.” The arrangement was impeccable and I loved their choreography. However, the performance divided the judges. Howard stated that they delivered 50 WOW moments, but Mel B thought that the first half was not that good. The King of All Media begged Scary Spice to put them through and with pressure from Nick Cannon and the Dolby Theatre audience; she sent them to the next round.

Orlando’s Rock Hard Revue traveled to AGT to prove that their act was worth a million dollars! Their routine made all the ladies scream and inspired Howie to take off his shirt and join the muscle models on stage. While the guys melted Heidi and Mel B, Howard and Howie did not like the act. Unfortunately, the judges’ split decision made it an automatic “No” for the Rock Hard Revue.

The final act of the night was 74-years-young Frank Dimitri! After 50 years in the bar business, he decided to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a professional singer. From the first notes of “I’ve Got A World On A String,” it transported viewers back to the Rat Pack’s glory days and it gave me goose bumps! What a wonderful way to end the night!

Next week, the auditions conclude!!!
