I love the Battle Rounds! It separates the contenders from the pretenders and they always present amazing results!

Tonight, the Battle Rounds began as the coaches brought in superstar help in the forms of Aloe Blacc, Jill Scott, the Band Perry and Miranda Lambert to mentor their teams.

Who rose to the occasion and won their battles? Did another coach steal any contestant?  Read on to find out…

The first battle of Season Six was Team Usher’s Biff Gore (Old School) and T.J. Wilkins (New School).  Usher chose The Temptations’’ “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg.” Despite the 20-year-age gap between the men, both of them were two of Usher’s powerful soul singers.  Mentor Jill Scott stated that it was comparing smooth and rough vocals. During the final rehearsal, Usher directed both men to win Jill over and warned them to “be desperate” with their performance.  However, both men showed lots of nerves and under sold their performance.  While the coaches stated they killed it, Usher chose T.J. Wilkins to move forward.  In the final second, Blake stole Biff!

Team Blake’s Lexi Lucca and Jake Worthington was the second battle of the evening. The three-time Voice champion chose “It Goes Like This” for their battle. Lexi Lucca was extremely nervous but thanks to the Band Perry…was able to compose herself and prove herself a worthy opponent to Jake.  However, Jake Worthington was right on the money and was rewarded a spot on Blake’s team.

Shakira brought in her secret weapon: Blake Shelton’s wife-Miranda Lambert. Both Dani Moz and DeShawn Washington received one-chair-turns during the Blinds and both had a lot to prove.  The duo tackled Emeli Sande’s “My Kind of Love.” During the final rehearsals, both women warned Dani and DeShawn not to out sing each other.  While Dani screamed her way through the battle, I thought that DeShawn connected with the audience more…but Shakira made a BIG MISTAKE and chose Dani instead.

Team Adam’s first battle of the season was “Whenever I Call You “Friend.” He chose Kat Perkins and Patrick Thompson to sing the song. I thought it was an interesting duet and they played to each other’s strengths. However, Adam chose Kat Perkins. Which left Patrick Thompson available to steal and Shakira stole him!

One of the show’s most epic battles of the night was Paula DeAnda and Sisaundra Lewis. Team Blake’s powerful vocalists tackled Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera’s “Do What U Want.” The Band Perry advised them to pick their moments wisely and it could detract from the song. I loved both of them and this was the battle of the night! In the battle of the powerhouses, Sisaundra won.

The final battle of the night belonged to Team Usher’s Jake Barker and Stevie Jo.  Both men have soul backgrounds but Usher wanted them to stretch their limits. After a dismal final rehearsal, both artists delivered solid vocals and it was greatly executed. Adam declared that the artist who did not win…. would win a spot on his team.  As Usher chose Stevie Jo, Jake faced the tough decision to choose Adam, Blake or Shakira as his new coach. He decided to enlist in Team Adam.

Tomorrow night, the Battles continue!!!
