We are on Week Two of Season Six Blind Auditions!

Before we dive into this episode of The Voice, here is where the teams stand:

Team Adam: Christina Grimmie, Dawn and Hudson, Delvin Choice & Cary Laine

Team Usher: Biff Gore, Bria Kelly, Madilyn Paige and T.J. Wilkins

Team Shakira: Jeremy Biggs, Kristen Merlin and Deja Hall

Team Blake: Noah Lis and Jake Worthington

Which artists were able convince the coaches to turn their chairs around? Read on to find out…

Up first to face the coaches was 33-year-old Las Vegas resident Ryan Whyte Maloney.  After working with garbage in the morning and unlimited gigs in the evening, he still could not provide for his family.  He hoped that the Voice could help him lead to his dream career.  His cover of Journey’s “Lights” caught all four coaches’ attention.  While Adam and Usher showered him with complements, Blake was able to convince him to join his team.

Natchitoches, Louisiana native De’Shawn Washington started singing at age four. However, he dropped out of college to support his family. While he entertained the crowd with Sam Cooke’s “Twistin’ the Night Away,” he chose the wrong song.  Luckily, Shakira pushed her button.  If Shakira coaches De’Shawn correctly, he could be a Live Rounds contender.

Carson Daly traveled to LA to recruit Sam Behymer to perform for the coaches. The nanny of two moved to the city to pursue her music dreams.  While her parents disagreed with her career, she managed to get the attention of both Adam and Usher with her performance of Lorde’s “Royals.” While she sounded like the New Zealander, Sam lacked breath control and hopefully Adam would have been able to assist her.

Bernie, MO natives (and identical twins) Brothers Walker had an incredible reason to audition for the show. They sang (and opened for) Johnny Cash when they were younger.  Now, years later…both brothers opened a recording studio and wanted to step away from the booth and onto the stage! Their cover of Zac Brown Band’s “Keep Me in Mind” showcased lovely harmonies and I enjoyed every second of their performance.  Both brothers also became Usher’s first ever duo! Good luck guys and represent the Midwest well!

The show traveled to Corpus Christi, Texas to recruit Clarissa Serna. The office assistant worked for her parents at their real estate business and also volunteered at a local after school music club. She took the coaches back to the 1990s with her intense cover of the Cranberries’ “Zombie.” After having the option of choosing all four coaches, Clarissa enlisted with Team Shakira.

Fort Lee, NJ native Melissa “MJ” Jimenez hoped to turn around all four chairs with her Blind Audition.  After working with her father’s band and Wyclef Jean, she wanted to get a fresh start as a solo artist.  She brilliantly chose “If I Ain’t Got You” and her vocal range was fantastic.  While she connected with Shakira with their respective Latina roots, Usher was able to convince MJ to join his team.

35-year-old Patrick Thomson got into music due to being in a musical family.  His mother was part of a family act (like the Osmonds) and he wanted to be a musician since he was younger.  While juggling multiple odd jobs, Patrick performed with two different bands chasing his dream.  He blew both Blake and Adam with “Can’t You See.” While the three-time champ threw out every trick in the book, Patrick chose to go with Team Adam.

The final artist of the night that had the chance to perform for the coaches was 44-year-old Sisaundra Lewis.  Tied of picking fruit all of her life in Florida, she was able to convince her parents to let her sing outside of church.  One of her best moments was working with Celine Dion.  Celine surprised Sisaundra with a good luck video that brought her to tears! When she sang her first notes, I got chills immediately! I was so happy that all four coaches turned around for her. It was a surprise to hear her pick Blake as her coach!

Tomorrow night, the Blinds continue!
