Last night, The Voice: Season Eight Top 12 took to the Universal Studios Hollywood soundstage and rocked!

Nine members of the Top 12 peaked into the Top 50 iTunes charts and three artists (Sawyer Fredericks, Kimberly Nichole and Meghan Linsey) had their songs reach into the Top Five.

Tonight, two artists no matter which team they are on will compete for the last spot in the Top 10!

Which artists had to duke it out for The Voice: Season Eight’s first Instant Save? Read on to find out…

As Nick Jonas left the stage, it was time for America to receive the first round of results. Voice host Carson Daly revealed that the iTunes Top Five artists [Kimberly Nichole (Team Christina), Sawyer Fredericks (Team Pharrell) and Meghan Linsey (Team Blake)] were saved from elimination!

Team Blake teamed up with their coach to deliver an outstanding cover of “In The Midnight Hour.” I loved Hannah’s vocals, but it looked like someone (Blake Shelton) needed some more rehearsal because he forgot the words! As the four-time winning coach left the stage, Carson also revealed that Joshua Davis (Team Adam), India Carney (Team Christina) and Hannah Kirby (Team Blake) safely made it to the Top 10!

Team Christina surprised everyone with their team performance! They chose The Eagles’ iconic “Hotel California.” This was 90-degrees opposite from her epic Jackson tribute with Matthew Schuler and Jacquie Lee in Season Five. I loved how all four of their vocals blended together. I wished that the show released this performance as a iTunes single.

After taking a look Behind The Voice, Carson revealed the final three artists that were saved by America’s votes. Koryn Hawthorne (Team Pharrell), Rob Taylor (Team Christina) and Corey Kent White (Team Blake) joined their other teammates in the safety zone!

Mia Z kicked off the Instant Save round with a superb Blues track: “Stormy Monday.” I loved her vibe and her notes were not only acceptable…but also as Mel B would put it: “OFF THE CHAIN!” A- Team Adam’s Brian Johnson delivered an acceptable cover of Lonestar’s “Amazed.” I would have voted for him, if he sang that song last night. However, it might be too little, too late for Brian! B Deanna Johnson closed this round with an interesting cover of Bruno Mars’ “It Will Rain,” which gave me a Cher vibe. Her tone is interesting, but not my cup of tea! C

After a hectic voting period, Carson revealed that Team Adam’s Deanna Johnson was saved! Meaning that Brian and Mia Z were eliminated from the competition!

Next week, the Voice Top 10 will work with some of the industry’s best producers: Dave Stewart (Team Adam), Ryan Tedder (Team Pharrell), Mark Ronson (Team Xtina) & Scott Hendricks (Team Blake)!!!!
