New Music Tuesday is back for another edition.

This time around, I will be focusing on the new albums from Bob Dylan and Little Big Town, a re-release of David Guetta’s hit album: Nothing But the Beat and a hot single from Carly Rae Jepsen.

Tempest by Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan’s Tempest is his 35th studio album and it is one of his best albums ever.  This 10-track album showcases some of Dylan’s darker material yet but between the incredible lyrics and instrumental arrangements, Tempest will be an album that music lovers will listen to again and again.    For a more in-depth review of the album, click here: https://www.jakes-take.com/2012/09/09/jacob-reviews-tempest-by-bob-dylan/

Tornado by Little Big Town

The Homewood, Alabama-based quartet Little Big Town released its fifth studio album today.   Tornado showcases the band at its best from their impressive harmonies to their musicianship.     To help the group on the songwriting and producing front were songwriters Hillary Lindsay, Luke Laird, Chris Stapleton & the Warren Brothers and these songs are some of the best country songs that this author has heard all year.

Grade: A-

Songs to Download: “Pavements Ends,” “Pontoon,” “Sober,” “Your Side of the Bed” and “Tornado.”

Earlier this year, the band toured with Rascal Flatts on their Changed Tour.   One lucky fan recorded the group performing “Tornado” at a stop in Clarkston, Michigan.    To watch the performance, click here: http://youtu.be/N69WD3ppzr4

David Guetta Nothing But the Beat 2.0 album

While David Guetta’s “Nothing But the Beat” was an impressive album the first time around, it does not make sense to buy the whole album to get the new songs. (Cover by EMI and Virgin Records)

Nothing But the Beat 2.0 by David Guetta

French DJ David Guetta released one of the best dance albums last year called Nothing But the Beat.   This album featured collaborations with Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Chris Brown and Sia plus it spawned seven singles and massive radio airplay.    One year later, Guetta released Nothing 2.0 that contains some of the previously released material and combines it with the second disc that contains collaborations with fellow DJs-Producers including Afrojack and Avicii plus new songs from Sia, Ne-Yo and Akon.    While Nothing But the Beat was an impeccable album, combining every single track onto one new disc does not make it new music at all.  Guetta and the record company should have waited until next year to release a whole new album filled with new collaborations instead of offering second helpings of the same stuff.

Grade: B-

Songs to Download: “She Wolf (Falling to Pieces),” “Playing Hard” and if you haven’t downloaded them: “Sweat” and “Nothing Really Matters.”

This Kiss by Carly Rae Jepsen

“This Kiss” is the title track of Carly Rae Jepsen’s second studio album.   “This Kiss” definitely has a catchy beat and sounds like it pays homage to classic 1980s artists including Madonna and Cyndi Lauper.    This author believes that this single will be rocking the dance clubs across the world pretty soon.

Grade: B+
