Artists to Watch:

Jake’s Take’s Artists to Watch is back! Here are some of the artists that could shake up the music industry:

Songs From Monte Nido by Liza Owen

After penning songs for BTS and Selena Gomez, Liza Owen is stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist. The Epic Records recording artist rallied a supergroup of songwriters and producers, including Teddy Geiger, John Ryan, and Julian Bunetta, together for a superb album. Also, keep an ear out for rising county star Jimmie Allen, who joined Liza in the impeccable “JOSIE.” Songs from Monte Nido sets up a spectacular start for Liza Owen as a solo artist. A-

Tracks to Download: “CHLORINE,” “JOSIE,” “STARRY EYED,” “GETTING GOOD,” & “WHY AREN’T WE HAVING SEX.”

“Save This Dance For Me” by Alexander Nate

One R&B vocalist that you need to keep an eye on is Alexander Nate. When I first heard “Save This Dance For Me,” it reminded me of the first time I listened to Jason Derulo and Ne-Yo. Alexander’s smooth vocals would ignite R&B and Adult Contemporary radio stations across the country. If there is a song that you should download, it is this one. Way to go, Alexander Nate!

“Natural” by Distant Matter

Producer, artist, and DJ Distant Matter (real name: Alex Seligman) dropped the catchy single: “Natural.” The synth production is infectious, and it put a smile on my face. I am looking forward to hearing more music from Distant Matter in the future.

“Slide” by Ekelle

Songwriter, blogger, and model Ekelle released the 21st century of “Physical.” The Canadian influencer’s “Slide” has the potential for being one of 2021’s catchiest tunes. This tune reminds me of “The Cupid Shuffle,” as it will make its listeners get up and dance.

“Adidas” by Finn Askew

20-year-old Finn Askew is slowly becoming one of Generation Z’s top artists. The United Kingdom-based recording artist was named a VEVO DSCVE Artist to Watch and dropped a new single: “Adidas.” I was impressed with his vocals, the guitar riffs, and catchy hooks. Like fellow UK artists Ed Sheeran and Tom Walker, I believe that Finn will have the chance to dominate US streaming playlists soon. B+

“Sensitive” by Mayer Malik

When I first heard “Sensitive,” I thought: “Why is this song not on the radio or streaming playlists?” With the help of famed Dutch producer Boaz Van De Beatz (Ariana Grande, Diplo, and Madonna) and featured singer Daniella Milo, Mayer sings a heartbreaking tale of a broken relationship due to a communication issue. Mayer has a future in the recording industry. A-

“Forever, For Now” by Tilsen

Tilsen rounds out this edition of Jake’s Take’s New Music Reviews. Her single, “Forever, For Now,” is a superb dance-pop track that would make listeners dance. I hope big things are ahead for her because Tilsen should be on radio rotation and countless streaming service playlists.
