This edition of New Music Releases focuses on the debut albums of Dirty South and Marcus Canty, Ashley Monroe’s sophomore studio album plus new singles from 30H!3 and Blake Lewis.

Speed of Life by Dirty South

The popular Serbian-Australian DJ shows off a lot of diverse beats in his very first studio album.   By incorporating guest artists such as Joe Gil, Rudy and Ruben Haze with his hypnotic beats, Dirty South has strong potential to be the next David Guetta.   Dance fans should definitely keep an eye on Dirty South for the remainder of 2013.  A

Tracks to Download: “Gods (feat. Ruben Haze),” “Until the End (feat. Joe Gil),” “Champions,” “Your Heart” and “Reset”

This…Is Marcus Canty by Marcus Canty

There is nothing unique about Marcus Canty’s debut album.   While The X Factor alum is very charismatic, a majority of the tracks on this EP should have been sent to Usher, Ne-Yo and Chris Brown instead of Marcus.  It would be a complete waste of money and time to listen to this album.  D

Like a Rose by Ashley Monroe

Ashley Monroe’s sophomore album is filled with classic country tracks that will make country purists miss the classic days of vintage Dolly, Tammy and Loretta.  Listeners will be entranced by Ashley’s lovely voice as she perfectly weaved all nine tracks.   Also keep an ear out for Voice coach Blake Shelton, who makes a vocal cameo on her duet: “You Ain’t Dolly (And You Ain’t Porter).”  Overall, this album is definitely one of the best country albums of the first quarter. A+

Back to Life” by 3OH!3

“Back to Life” is one of the 30H!3 songs of the 2010s.  It has both wicked guitar and drums licks plus it has some great lyrics written by Nathaniel and Sean.  I strongly believe that 3OH!3 will deliver a strong fourth album that will recapture the attention of not only their fans but the music industry as well.  A-

Your Touch” by Blake Lewis

Speaking of comebacks, American Idol alum Blake Lewis released his catchy new single: “Your Touch.”   This song contains strong vocals, a hypnotic beat and great lyrics.  If Blake continues to release material like “Your Touch,” chances are he will be back in the forefront in the EDM world.  A
