Robin Thicke Paula album review

Robin Thicke may or may not win back “Paula” but he delivered one of his most personal albums of his career. (Album cover property of Star Trak Entertainment)

Paula by Robin Thicke

Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” ruled 2013! However, it was not until Robin performed with Miley Cyrus when his personal life took a hit. Earlier this year, his longtime girlfriend, Paula Patton, separated from him and since then Robin vowed to win her back. His eighth studio album, Paula, showcases a lover’s desperate attempt to win back his true love. Mr. Thicke will impress fans with his superb songwriting while flexing his vocal muscles. Good luck on your mission, Robin! B+

Ultraviolet by Owl City

Owl City’s fourth extended play focuses on both ends of the emotional spectrum. It would be hard not to visualize several of the tracks while listening to this EP. In addition, fans and music lovers will appreciate how the Minnesota native dived into several different genres of synthesizer-based music: 80s trance and EDM. Hopefully, this is a sign that there might be an album released later this year. A-

Young Blood” by The Heydaze

A few weeks ago, I introduced you to this rising New York City-based pop rock trio! The Heydaze continue their rise to superstardom. Their latest single and my Song of the Week, “Young Blood,” is an enticing tune that will make everyone smile. Keep an eye out for my latest edition of “A Conversation” featuring the trio, as it will be hitting the Internet sometime soon. A+
