Welcome to another exciting edition of New Music Releases!

This week, Jake’s Take dives into new albums from Marc Anthony, The Rolling Stones and Selena Gomez plus new singles from Chris Brown, Ariana Grande and Bonnie McKee.

Marc Anthony 3.0

Marc Anthony’s “3.0” is one of the best Salsa albums of 2013. (Album cover property of Sony Music)

3.0 by Marc Anthony

Marc Anthony’s 3.0 should be in every Latino music lovers’ MP3 players.  All 10 tracks feature brilliant instrumental arrangements, strong vocals from Mr. Anthony and this album will be perfect for any dance clubs around the world.  In fact, listening to this CD might lead to dancing in your seat.  A

Tracks to Download: “Vivir Mi Vida,” “Volver a Comenzar,” “Espera,” “Hipocresia” & “Cautivo de Tu Amor”

Stars Dance by Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez’s first solo outing is very mixed.   While it does pack a lot of punch, thanks to the superstar songwriters and producers that were recruited for the album including Stargate, Ester Dean, the Cataracs and Desmond Child, it seems like for every “Like a Champion” and “Come & Get It,” there are tracks like “Birthday” that slows down the listener’s interest.   Hopefully, when Ms. Gomez goes back to record her sophomore album, she learns to record songs that continue to enchant listeners and not drive them away.   C+

Tracks to Download: “Like a Champion,”  “Slow Down” & “Forget Forever”

The Rolling Stones Hyde Park Live Album

The Rolling Stones’ “Hyde Park Live” is filled with the band’s classic hits and rare tracks. (Album cover property of Promotone B.V.)

Hyde Park Live by the Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones have released an exclusive digital download on iTunes.   This features their recent concert at Hyde Park in London, England.   There is still fire in Mick’s voice as he continues to slay classics such as “Start Me Up” and “Ruby Tuesday” plus the band’s new singles and deep tracks that included “Doom & Gloom” and “Emotional Rescue,” where Mick showed off his superb falsetto.    In addition, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie continue to produce an outstanding sound.  Overall, this is a great live album to listen to and will definitely make your day go faster.  A+

Tracks to Download: “Emotional Rescue,” “Before They Make Me Run,” “Gimme Shelter,” “Sympathy For The Devil” & “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”

Love More” by Chris Brown feat. Nicki Minaj

The R&B badboy released a splendid up-tempo track that featured smooth vocals from the “Forever” singer and dope beats from the former American Idol judge.  This track could definitely burn up the Urban contemporary charts.   B+

Ariana Grande's second single shows off a lot of powerhouse vocals. (Album cover property of Universal Republic Records)

“Baby I” by Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande delivers another strong single! “Baby I” features amazing vocals from the Nickelodeon star that will help her continue her hot streak.   If Ariana can pull off an astonishing debut album, then the sky is the limit for this amazing young lady. A

“American Girl” by Bonnie McKee

Ms. McKee has co-written some of the hottest singles of the decade including “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),” “Hold It Against Me” and “Dynamite.”   Now, Ms. McKee has released her first solo single in nine years.   This song is definitely a breakout summer song and I hope that Ms. McKee has the same success as some of the artists that she wrote for! A

Her music video for the single features cameos from Adam Lambert, Carly Rae Jepsen, Joan Rivers, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, KISS and Macklemore.   To watch the video, click here: http://youtu.be/nNXA0YjJkgs

I do not own any of the clips that are featured in this article, they belong to the artists and their respective labels.
