5 Seconds of Summer by 5 Seconds of Summer

Australia’s hottest pop rock band is burning up the charts! 5 Seconds of Summer is breathing new life into this genre! The quartet’s sound is impeccable and a majority of the tracks are superb pieces of ear candy. Music fans would appreciate the work the quartet put through with the making of their debut album. I also want to give credit to busbee, Louis Biancaniello and Ben and Joel Madden for assisting with the making of this album. 5 Seconds of Summer has a bright future ahead of them and their debut album is my Album of the Week! A+

Tracks to Download: “She Looks So Perfect,” “Kiss Me Kiss Me,” “Everything I Didn’t Say,” “Beside You” & “Amnesia

Trouble in Paradise by La Roux

No one can deny that Elly Jackson is a superb singer-songwriter! However, throughout Trouble in Paradise…music lovers might lose interest in the New Wave synthpop produced tracks. C

Tracks to Download: “Let Me Down Gently,” “Uptight Downtown” & “Tropical Chancer”

Jesse McCartney in Technicolor

Jesse McCartney showcased a lot of growth as an artist with his fourth studio album: “In Technicolor.” (Album cover property of Eight0Eight Records)

In Technicolor by Jesse McCartney

Welcome back to the music world, Jesse McCartney! The actor-singer’s fifth studio album is one of the strongest pop albums of the year! The tracks are smooth like velvet and it is great to hear Mr. McCartney’s vocal range. He definitely is one of the best double threats that the millennial generation has produced. B+

Tracks to Download: “Back Together,” “Young Love,” “Superbad” & “All About Us”

Burnin’ It Down” by Jason Aldean

Jason Aldean’s latest single is in honesty…a train wreck! It sounds like more of an Usher or Chris Brown track, then a Jason Aldean song! He should stick to what he does best: ballads and hard rock country anthems. F

Quiet Storm” by Smokey Robinson & John Legend

“Quiet Storm” is my Song of the Week! The vocal combination of the Motown icon and R&B’s current leading man is simply irresistible to the ear! I, for one, cannot wait until Smokey & Friends comes out on August 19. A+

I do not own any of the sound clips that are featured in this article. They belong to the artists and their respective record companies.
