When I Was Your Man by Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars’ final single to his upcoming sophomore album, Unorthodox Jukebox, is a heartbreaking track that perfectly shows off his brilliant songwriting skills, instrumental arrangement and spot-on vocals.   This song illustrates how the Grammy-nominated artist will dominate the music scene in 2013.   A

Troublemaker by Olly Murs and Flo Rida

I know a lot of people reading this are saying: “Who’s Olly Murs?”  Olly Murs is a British singer-songwriter who found success on the U.K. version of X Factor and is dominating the U.K. charts.   His first U.S. single “Troublemaker” is an extremely catchy piece of ear candy that will put anyone who is listening to it in a good mood.   A-

Find Your Voice by Sarah McLachlan

This is the second year that the Grammy-winning artist has released a holiday single.  “Find Your Voice” features a brilliant collaboration between Ms. McLachlan and her students.  A-

Long Distance by Melanie Amaro

The first X Factor USA winner released her third single off of her upcoming debut album: Truly.  This song is way better than her first two singles because this shows off Melanie’s flawless vocal ability and it is not over produced like “Don’t Fail Me Now.”   Overall, this author thinks that “Long Distance” will be one of Amaro’s most successful songs outside of her X Factor covers.  B+

Melanie Amaro will debut her new song on X Factor’s results show tomorrow night.  To listen to the song, click here: http://youtu.be/kPKa0knrLjQ

Florence + the Machine's Lover to Lover cover

Florence + the Machine’s live version of their hit “Lover to Lover” is simply one of the best live recordings of 2012. (Album cover property of Republic Records)

Lover To Lover by Florence + The Machine

For most of 2012, Florence + The Machine traveled across the world to promote their sophomore studio album: Ceremonials.   One of the highlights of the tour was when the band performed their hit: “Lover to Lover.” Florence’s vocals soared while the band’s impressive musicianship showed throughout the song as they entranced their audience throughout the three-minute and 48 seconds segment.  A+
