New Music Releases is back for another week of fantastic music!

Everlasting Martina McBride

Martina McBride tackles some beloved rock and soul classics in her latest album: “Everlasting”. (Album property of Kobalt Records)

Everlasting by Martina McBride

The Kansas native’s twelfth studio album is a beautiful cover album that showcases Ms. McBride’s twists on rock, R&B and soul classics.  I loved the rearrangements that Ms. McBride and Don Was did with the tracks.  Keep an ear out for Kelly Clarkson and Gavin DeGraw, who stopped by to provide vocal support on “Bring It On Home to Me” and “In the Basement” respectfully.  Brava, Ms. McBride! A

Tracks to Download: “Suspicious Minds,” “If You Don’t Know Me By Now,” “What Becomes of the Brokenhearted,” “Wild Night” & “Perfect”

She Looks So Perfect by 5 Seconds of Summer

I have heard a lot of buzz about this quartet. This Sydney, Australia Pop rock band released their third EP and all I got to say is that this band rocks! This was a very strong EP and I think that a lot of pop rock fans might find their similar to Maroon 5 and Fall Out Boy.  Their harmonies are superb and the lyrics are catchy.  I have a feeling that 5 Seconds of Summer has a bright future ahead of them. B+

Tracks to Download: “She Looks So Perfect, “Heartache on the Big Screen” & “What I Like About You”

Jonathan Estabrooks These Miles album

Jonathan Estabrooks’s first album is one of the best debuts of 2014! (Album cover property of Jonathan Estabrooks)

These Miles by Jonathan Estabrooks

When I first listened to the notes of “Play Me,” I was immediately infatuated with Jonathan’s voice. Throughout the 12 tracks, many classical crossover and opera lovers would enjoy listening to Jonathan’s covers of classic standards including “Time After Time” and “Always On My Mind, plus opera arias including “Por Una Cabeza.” If he continues to put out quality albums in the future, Jonathan could be considered one of the Millennials’ greatest baritones! A+

Tracks to Download: “Play Me,” “Time After Time,” “Por Una Cabesa,” “Always On My Mind” & “Away from the Sea”

We Are One (Ole Ola)” by Pitbull featuring Jennifer Lopez & Claudia Leitte

The first track off of The Official 2014 FIFA World Cup Soundtrack was released earlier this week. This is an uplifting track that brings out the best of all three artists. Pitbull delivers the smooth beats, J.Lo crushes the sing-rap and I am extremely interested in hearing more from Claudia Leitte.  I hope we get a strong soundtrack from this sporting event. B

Ed Sheeran Sing

Ed Sheeran’s collaboration with Pharrell Williams, “Sing,” might be this year’s Song of the Year. (Album cover property of Atlantic Records)

Sing” by Ed Sheeran

When I first heard this song on KMXV-FM Mix 93.3, I thought it was another JT-Pharrell collaboration. But when Teresa revealed that it was Ed Sheeran, I was completely blown away. I am very impressed that the English singer-songwriter expanded outside of his acoustic zone and took on Pharrell Williams’ superb dance pop/R&B blend.  Best song of the week! A+

I do not own all of the clips that are featured in this article. They belong to the artists and their respective record labels.
