Welcome to this week’s New Music Releases!

This week, I took a look at the Queen of Country Music’s latest album and new material from a diverse group of rising artists.

Love Somebody by Reba McEntire

The country music icon has released her 27th studio album: Love Somebody! This album not only marks her second album of the 2010s, but also the first album for her new record label: Nash Icon. For this endeavor, Ms. McEntire assembled an impeccable group of collaborators ranging from established veterans Rhett Akins, Shane McAnally and “Enough” collaborator Jennifer Nettles to rising up-and-comers Ashley Gorley, Josh Osbourne and Sam Hut to craft superb tracks. Love Somebody will take Reba’s fans on an intense roller coaster that dealt with powerful themes such as alcoholism, divorce, self-esteem and violence, but several positive tracks such as “Livin’ Ain’t Killed Me Yet” and “Until They Don’t Love You” are sprinkled throughout the album and will put a smile on the listener’s face. Congrats, Ms. McEntire! Love Somebody is my Album of The Week! A+

Tracks to Download: “Going Out Like That,” “She Got Drunk Last Night,” “Livin’ Ain’t Killed Me Yet,” “Promise Me Love” & “Until They Don’t Love You.”

Eyes Wide Open by Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter first caught my attention when she collaborated with Peter Hollens on an epic cover of U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I Am Looking For.” Her pure angelic voice had impeccable layers and it was total ear candy. For her Hollywood Records, Ms. Carpenter showcased her superb songwriting skills and lovely bubblegum pop vocals all throughout the 12 tracks. I have a strong feeling that Ms. Carpenter would not be just known as Girl Meets World’s Maya, but also an incomparable singer and role model for many young ladies and gentlemen around the country. B+

Tracks to Download: “Eyes Wide Open,” “Two Young Hearts,” “We’ll Be The Stars” & “Seamless”

Kids In Love The Mowgli's

The Mowgli’s showcased their growth as artists in their sophomore album: “Kids In Love.” (Album cover property of Photo Finish Records)

Kids in Love by The Mowgli’s

I have seen the Mowgli’s evolve and grow as musicians over their career! This band has continued to set the standards that alternative musical groups follow to this day. For their sophomore album with Island Records, The Mowgli’s continue to showcase their upbeat and irresistible musical arrangements in Kids in Love. I would like to commend Colin, Katie, Matthew, Josh, Dave, Spencer and Andy for continuing to deliver quality material that should not be exclusive for Alternative-only radio stations, but on all pop and rock radio stations across the country! A

Tracks to Download: “You’re Not Alone,” “I’m Good,” “Through the Dark,” “Make It Right” & “Whatever Forever”

Emily West All For You

Attention Emily West fans! Emily’s first post-“AGT” album: “All For You” is expected to drop in August! (Album cover property of SYCO Records & Sony Masterworks)

Bitter” by Emily West

I love when America’s Got Talent alum Emily West releases new music! Her latest single off of her upcoming album, All For You, is “Bitter.” This is an unbelievable song from start to finish! The lyrics are superb and Ms. West’s divine voice will continue to give listeners chills. Congratulations, Emily! “Bitter” is my Song of The Week! A+

Goodbye” by Who Is Fancy

Are you traveling to Kansas City for Mix 93.3’s Red, White & Boom? If you are…rising artist Who Is Fancy will be among the hot up-and-comers that will be taking the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater stage. This man was discovered by three of the biggest heavy hitters in today’s music industry (Scooter Braun, Scott Borchetta and Dr. Luke) and his wonderful voice has been stirring up Top 40 radio listeners ever since. If Who is Fancy continues to deliver quality material, he will have an everlasting career in the music industry. A-

You Wanna Know” by XYPO & Kyamran Silence

One of the most hypnotic House tracks that I have heard was created by two impeccable international DJs. UK-based and DeepMixNation founder XYPO (Janis Szenis) and Uzbekistan native Kyamran Silence’s collaboration could possibly unleash a global hit that could be featured everywhere between the Las Vegas nightclubs to Spotify EDM playlists. Listeners might be warned, this track is like chocolate covered almonds–once you listen to it, you will be addicted to this song! B+

I do not own the clips that are sprinkled throughout the articles. They belong to the artists and their record labels.
