Last week, The Masked Singer made its debut on FOX! Six costumed celebrities competed for the right to advance to future rounds of the show.  There were a few standouts including the Lion, the Peacock, and the Monster.  Sadly, the Hippo failed to impress the audience and the judges (Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke) and the celebrity was forced to unmask.

The Hippo was revealed to be Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver, Antonio Brown! Tonight, six new celebrities entered the competition. Which celebrities soared to new heights? Who was forced to unmask? Read on to find out!

Before the episode aired, six clues about each new costumed celebrity were released on the show’s YouTube channel.  The straightjacket-wearing Rabbit posed with a camera, while the Pineapple sang into a microphone as a parrot sat on his shoulder and did the hula. A golden record accompanied the Alien’s footage, while the Raven had a pregnancy test accompany them. Finally, a pair of tennis balls accompanied the Bee and the Poodle talked on a phone with background dancers behind them.

Up first was the Rabbit squared off against the Alien! The Rabbit revealed that they spent most of his life on stage and vowed to best the last mask standing. The Rabbit performed a metal version of Ricky Martin’s “Livin’ La Vida Loca.” The Rabbit had both Jenny and Nicole on their feet. The energetic Rabbit received a standing ovation and Ken thought he was an actor. Some of the panelists believed he was Criss Angel, Jake Gyllenhaal, or a former *NSYNC member.

The Alien was the next Masked Singer to perform. The character walked out like a supermodel. The Alien teased that she grew up in the public eye, but was controlled throughout their life. The performer sang Portugal. The Man’s “Feel It Still.” Both Jenny and Robin thought that the Alien was a model.  The Masked Singer panel predicted that either Bella Hadid, Kourtney Kardashian, or one of the Spice Girls could be under the mask.  At the end of the round, both the audience and judges voted the Rabbit to advance to the next round, leaving the Alien in danger of being eliminated.

The second Masked Singer battle of the night was between the Pineapple and the Raven. Up first was the Raven.  The Raven mentioned that they were overcoming a tragic loss and they performed Kesha’s “Rainbow.” The performer received a standing ovation from the panel. The celebrities guessed former talk-show hosts Sherri Shepherd, Sally Jesse Raphael, and Star Jones.  Meanwhile, the Pineapple defeated a life-threatening disease and admitted to being in the public eye for decades. However, it was the worst performance of the series as he butchered Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive.” The panel believed that it was either Cheech or Chong, Adam Sandler, and former U.S. President Obama. The Pineapple Mask found himself in jeopardy after the Raven Mask was declared the victor of the throwdown.

The final Masked Singer duel of the evening belonged to the Poodle Mask and the Bee Mask. The Poodle Mask is a sassy member of the LGBT community, who tackled Pat Benatar’s “Heartbreaker.” She had a dramatic voice and had a magnetic personality. The panel guessed RuPaul, Richard Simmons, or even Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.    The Bee Mask concluded the night’s performances with a cover of Sia’s “Chandelier.” At first, I thought it was Joni Mitchell singing the track, but it could be Gladys Knight. The panel predicted Mary J. Blige, Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, and Lil Kim could be under the mask. However, we are going to continue to guess the Bee’s identity as it moved on to the next round.

That meant that Poodle Mask joined the Alien and the Pineapple in this week’s Bottom Three. The panel’s votes evicted the Pineapple Mask from The Masked Singer.  It turned out that comedy legend Tommy Chong was the behind the mask.

The competition will continue next week!
