Welcome to the first Voice results show of Season Five!

20 artists have proved themselves to America…but only 12 of them will go through!

Tonight, eight artists will move onto the next round of competition because of your votes!  But, the superstar coaches (Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera), will decide the fates of the remaining 12 artists, as they must select one more performer to join their team and eliminate the rest!

Who made the cut? Were there any surprise eliminations? Read on to find out!

Before we got to the crucial part of the evening, all of Team Blake united to perform “Free Ride.” Then, it was pressure time as Carson revealed the results.  The first two artists that were saved by America and moved onto the Top 12 were soul guitarists Austin Jenckles and Cole Vosbury.  Leaving Shelbie Z, Nic Hawk and Ray Boudreaux in jeopardy!  Blake chose to keep Ray sending Nic Hawk and frontrunner Shelbie Z home.

While Blake gave hugs to both Nick and Shelbie, Team CeeLo tackled “Give A Little Bit.” After giving a soulful performance, it was time for them to learn their fate.  The first person that America saved was Caroline Pennell.  Joining Caroline next week was Jonny Gray (WRONG DECISION…AMERICA)! That left Amber Nicole, Kat Robichaud and Tamara Chauniece’s fates in CeeLo’s hands…. After a passionate monologue, CeeLo saved Kat Robichaud from elimination.  Unfortunately, Amber Nicole and Tamara Chauniece were eliminated!

Team Xtina was the third team to face the music.  Before Xtina’s latest pupils faced the firing squad, the quintet tackled Maroon 5’s “Love Somebody.” Once the quintet was finished with the song, it was time for them to hear the crucial result.  The first artist that received the most votes was 17-year-old Jacquie Lee and Team Xtina’s MVM (Most Valuable Male) Matthew Schuler.  That left the “Your Body” singer in a tight position as Josh Logan, Stephanie Anne Johnson and Olivia Henken fought for the final spot.   Xtina chose to save Josh while sending Olivia and Stephanie (not happy with her elimination, Xtina!) home.

Carson stated that Adam Levine looked very uncomfortable going into the final commercial break.  He was about to break two dreams! Team Adam has been consistent and almost all of Adam’s artists had breakout moments on Monday’s show. For the final song of the night, they performed “Safe and Sound.” Of all of the teams, Adam’s group had the best harmonization tonight!  After the group performed the Top 40 hit, Carson revealed that America sent James Wolpert and Tessanne Chin to safety.   Unfortunately, that left Grey and two frontrunners Preston Pohl and Will Champlin, in jeopardy! In the end, Adam chose Will to be his final member.

Next week, the Top 12 perform for your votes!
