Tyra Banks’ first Golden Buzzer act, Light Balance, returned the Dolby Theatre stage. This glow-in-the-dark dance troupe took the world by storm with their brilliant performances that brought them to the Season 12 finale.

Just like Light Balance did a year ago, more 12 acts performed last night for America’s votes. Some acts such as singer Glennis Grace, multimedia act Front Pictures, dance troupe Da Republik, comedian Samuel J. Comroe, and trapeze duo Duo Transcend delivered outstanding performances that were worthy of the Season 13 semifinals.  Others such as singer-songwriter Noah Guthrie, the Savitsky Cats, and the Voices of Hope Children’s Choir faltered.

Which acts did America advance to the semifinals? Who needed the Dunkin’ Save or the Judges (Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel)’ Save? Read on to find out!

During the Behind the Scenes footage of last night’s show, we saw disagreements between the Judges and multiple technical glitches. However, the real stunner was what happened during the Sacred Riana’s terrifying act. Mel B wanted to leave the show before the segment, she shut down Howie, and Heidi Klum rolled her eyes after the portion ended.

This week, Howie Mandel joined the acts in the Dunkin’ Lounge. He spoke with the Sacred Riana, Yumbo Dump, and Samuel J. Comroe.  After that segment, Tyra revealed that Noah Guthrie and The Voices of Hope Children’s Choir.  Before the next set of results, Simon tried to set up Tyra on blind dates with Taylor Williamson, Preacher Lawson and American Ninja Warrior co-host Matt Iseman.  It was a hysterical bit!

While Tyra tried to compose herself, Light Balance joined forces with the Illusionists to preview their new Broadway show! The Light Balance crew stole the show with their routine to Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” as they electrified the Dolby Theatre stage with a technicolor fun performance that made me smile!

After Tyra gave out the two-minute warning regarding he Dunkin’ Save closing, she revealed that both  Glennis Grace and Samuel J. Comroe would advance to the next round. Everyone was on the edge of their seat as Duo Transcend beat out the Sacred Riana to the semifinals. With five acts saved, Tyra requested that all three Dunkin’ Save acts returned to the Dolby Theatre stage.  Makayla Phillips was the second act to receive the Dunkin’ Save of Season 13, which was the wrong decision! I firmly believe that Simon needs to consider having a Junior Version of AGT for the kids because there are a lot of young performers robbing adults of their chances to pursue their career in the entertainment industry! I would be happy to judge the series.

This bonehead decision made by America forced the judges to decide between Da Republik and Front Pictures. Heidi kicked off the vote by selecting Da Republik, and Mel B agreed with her. Meanwhile, Howie picked Front Pictures. This meant it was all up to Simon Cowell. The Got Talent creator chose to advance Da Republik to the semifinals, and it was a shame that we had to lose Front Pictures because they could have won this season.

Next Tuesday, the final group of Season 13 quarterfinalists will perform on the Dolby Theatre stage!  Several of Jake’s Take favorites including Aaron Crow, Christina Wells, UDI, and Zurcaroh are among the acts that will participate in this round.
