Jake’s Take Podcast: Singer-songwriter Tommy Boi

It is a privilege to welcome singer-songwriter Tommy Boi to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.

While the Sacramento, California native’s sound is similar to Harry Styles, Nick Jonas, and Zayn Malik, he is heavily inspired by Britney Spears, Lana Del Rey, Shania Twain, and Tove Lo. In 2017, he came out as a gay musicians and started releasing singles. His music caught the attention of many members of the LGBT community. 

Tommy Boi performed at the 2019 Santa Barbera Pride Festival and the Breaking Pride Event at the Peppermint Club with queer pop music icons Michael Medrano and Davy Boi. His single, “You Never Called Back,” received 1 million streams on Apple Music and 800,000 Spotify streams.

In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Tommy Boi shared the advice that Nicki Minaj gave him when he was eliminated from American Idol: Season 12. Tommy also spoke about two of his singles: “Blessings in Disguise” and “Found Again.”
