In 2020, Matt celebrating 15 years covering the industry. He also has extensive insight into the inner workings of reality TV thanks to appearing as a contestant on both Beauty and the Geek and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Matt launched his platform, CarterMatt, as a TV-exclusive portal to celebrate television shows that viewers love.
Co-owner Jessica had professionally worked in the entertainment industry when she wrote her first feature film script (under the name “Jessica Hudson”), Drop Dead Roses. The film starred Brian O’Halloran (Clerks), Big Brother’s original winner Eddie McGee, and Chris Diamantopoulos. She also has 17 years of experience being associated with the film and TV industries.
Matt and Jessica Carter are impeccable entertainment journalists that have their pulse on the television industry. Through CarterMatt.com, they analyze everything from TV promos and episode recaps to interviews with Reality TV personalities. I first encountered CarterMatt through their YouTube channel, where they recapped Big Brother 20. While there are dozens of media outlets that cover the CBS Reality TV competition and its live feeds, CarterMatt brought me the facts I needed (just in case I missed the episode).
In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, I sat down with CarterMatt’s Matt and Jessica Carter, and they shared the brand’s origin story and the challenges that they overcame throughout their respective careers. We also talked about America’s Got Talent: The Champions-Season Two’s Top 10 and guessed which celebrities could join Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel on the Season 15 panel. The three of us also talked about Survivor: Winners at War and had a spirited discussion when I revealed my dream Big Brother All-Stars 2 cast.
