Hello Oncers!

The last time we saw the Charmings and crew, the villainous Peter Pan (aka Rumple’s daddy) was successful in reactivating the Dark Curse.  However, thanks to the man formerly known as the Dark One, Pan was dead!  Unfortunately, the Dark Curse could not be stopped and took Storybrooke off the map!

Fast forward a year later, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) (with new memories courtesy of Regina) are living peacefully…until Hook (Colin O’ Donoghue) shows up at their door with a message: their family is in danger!  Because of Regina (Lana Parrilla)’s new memories, Emma does not remember Hook and socks him after he attempts to use “True Love’s Kiss” on her.

So what should you look forward to for the second half of Season Three? Here are some previews:

Wicked is Coming: The next opponent that the Charmings and crew will face is the Wicked Witch of the West (Rebecca Mader). From past interviews from TV Line and E!, series creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz proclaimed that the Wicked Witch of the West has a connection to a couple of main characters on the show.  In addition, the creators have teased a possible finale battle between the Witch and Regina at the end of the season.

New characters debut: In addition to the Wicked Witch of the West, Once will introduce a couple of fresh faces to the show. Actress Alexandra Metz will play Rapunzel; True Blood’s Henri Lubatti is expected to portray “Lumiere” -like servant and Ugly Betty alum Christopher Gorham has been cast for a secret role.

50 First Punches: After the final minutes of the 2013 winter finale, it looks like Hook has to earn Emma’s love (and memories) back the hard way! What will the captain do to make Emma remember her previous life?  Viewers will have to tune into “New York City Serenade” to find out!

Will Rumple return?: Sadly, Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) met his own end in the winter finale! Gold’s death left Belle (Emilie De Ravin) devastated.  How will Belle honor his memory during the second half?  Both Horowitz and Kitsis have stated to Rumpbelle fans to “keep watching” to find out if the fan-favorite couple will reunite later on this season.

A permanent death: The Grim Reaper will visit the show one more time this series! However, he will take away one character from the show PERMANTELY! Who will join Sheriff Graham, Greg and Tamara in the afterlife?

Now here are some speculations on the end of the season and how could it lead into the end of “Once Upon A Time”:

Cora the Queen of Hearts Once Upon A Time

Will Barbara Hershey’s Queen of Hearts grace “Once Upon A Time” in the future? (Photo property of ABC Studios)

Where’s Cora? When Storybrooke’s residents were transported back to the Enchanted Forest…two bodies have not counted for! One of the bodies was the deceased Queen of Hearts.  While Rose McGowan will revive her portrayal of young Cora later on this season, Barbara Hershey is only scheduled to make a cameo on Once Upon A Time in Wonderland.  I think the revival of Cora (Barbara Hershey) would definitely drive the show to its series finale.

Maleficent’s Possible Revival: 2014 could be the year of the Dark Fairy! The character will be making her return to the Silver Screen in 55 years.  But where is the Mistress of All Evil in the Once Upon A Time universe? With True Blood ending, I think its time to for the show’s EPs to bring Kristen Bauer van Straten back into the fold!

Shrinking the Cast: While I love the show’s cast, the show has TOO MANY CHARACTERS to keep track of. I think that it would be beneficial for the show to eliminate several primary, secondary and tertiary characters (Neal, almost all of the Dwarves and several Princes and Princesses) and elevate fan-favorites such as Viktor Frankenstein, Grumpy, Archie and Mulan (David Anders, Lee Arenberg, Raphael Sbarge & Jamie Chung respectively) into the main cast.

A possible “Wonderland” invasion: Once’s sister show is not doing so hot! The ratings have continued to sag and it looks like Wonderland will end its run this year. However, I think that several of the show’s cast members Sophie Lowe (Alice), Michael Socha (the Knave of Hearts) and Naveen Andrews (Jafar) would have no problems reprising their roles in the main series.

The Ultimate Bad Guys: Every season, Horowitz and Kitsis have given us incredible villains! Are they saving two of the nastiest villains in both literature and film: Count Dracula and Chernobog…for last? If these two rogues are brought into the picture…I think James Marsters should play the Count and Mark Hamill, Ian McDiarmid, Alan Rickman or James Earl Jones to voice Disney’s version of the Devil!

What are your thoughts?

“Once Upon A Time” returns to ABC airwaves on March 9!
