The Hot Tamale Train has left the building and So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) fans are extremely unhappy!

Multiple sources including Entertainment Weekly, TVLine and Zap2It broke the news that FOX did not renewed Mary Murphy’s contract as a judge for the long running summer staple.

Ms. Murphy, who had been a part of SYTYCD since its inception in 2005, released the following statement to multiple outlets on Monday, January 12:

“I’m saddened of course to be released from my contract. I’m very grateful and proud to have been part of such an extraordinary television show, So You Think You Can Dance, for 11 seasons. I’m sure there wasn’t a person watching that didn’t know I loved what I did!!”

Ms. Murphy, on behalf of countless fans and entertainment reporters alike…we loved watching you judge!

Every time, we heard the phrase: “I can hear it…yes, I can hear it…I hear a train!” We all knew that you were about to explode exuberantly and deliver two tickets to very lucky contestants to board the exclusive Hot Tamale Train, all while making Nigel deaf for a brief moment.

All the dancers that I interviewed over the past three years for Jake’s Take and Examiner.com expressed true joy when they mentioned how your critiques shaped them for the next chapters of their careers.

So, when E! Entertainment Television released the first photo of the new SYTYCD judges’ panel…I, along with some extremely disgruntled fans, were very disappointed to see Paula Abdul and Jason DeRulo sitting alongside Nigel with Mary nowhere in sight.

As much as I love both Paula Abdul and Cat Deeley, I do not think I am going to watching this season! Nigel’s constant manipulations and backstabbing, plus the combination of the upcoming antics of douche Jason DeRulo and potential lack of ballroom dancers with the “street vs. stage dancers” theme might sabotage SYTYCD’s existence.

If NBC or ABC were smart, I think they should talk to Ms. Murphy about joining either America’s Got Talent or Dancing with the Stars. I would personally love to see Mary Murphy sitting next to America’s Judge.

What are your thoughts? Will Nigel’s antics cost “SYTYCD” a spot in the Summer 2016 line-up? Should Mary Murphy join either “AGT” or “DWTS”? Share your thoughts with me over Twitter at @JacobElyachar!
