Jake’s Take is thrilled to welcome back long time friend of the blog and one of the best fitness entrepreneurs on the planet: Scott Herman!

Through his informative YouTube fitness videos and his remarkable content on his website: MuscularStrentgth.com, Scott provides the necessary tools that have changed countless lives around the world.  Between his thorough workout plans, meal plans, and fitness advice, Scott has built up his fitness community known as the Hermanites into one of the most recognizable and supportive groups in the online fitness world.

In this edition of Catching Up, Scott opened up about Muscular Strength’s continuing evolution, how he can help you get a superhero body and the challenge he faces with creating content for YouTube.

Jacob Elyachar: How have you grown as an athlete and fitness entrepreneur since the last time we spoke?

Scott Herman: Since we last spoke, I have taken Scott Herman Fitness to a whole new level with my website: MuscularStrength.com.  I have decided that it was time to start helping other content providers get the recognition they deserve while also building a website where anyone could go to for help and support with their fitness goals.  Think of it as a hub where you can create a profile, make friends with our community members and have access to all kinds of great content, workouts, exercises, articles and videos from me as well as other great content creators.

JE: When we last spoke, you transitioned ScottHermanFitness.com into MuscularStrength.com. How has the website evolved over the last year?

SH: Since we last spoke we have made a few changes.  The biggest has been the introduction of our exclusive section where we provide content that is ONLY available on the site, not on YouTube.  This gives us the chance to cater more to our loyal members who appreciate the content and the time we take responding to questions and comments.

JE: You are getting closer to hit 1,000,000 YouTube subscribers. What are some of the challenges that you face creating content?

SH: The biggest challenge is coming up with NEW content.  There are things that are interesting, and there are things that get views and a lot of the times they are not the same topics! (Laughs) But, we take the time to listen to our members to come up with new great ideas and our videos as well.  Our new VERSUS series, for example, has already started off with a lot of momentum. Check out the first video!

JE: Between Batman vs. Superman, Captain America: Civil War and Suicide Squad, 2016 is going to be an epic year for superhero fanatics. Do you have plans to create workouts that will help people get a superhero body? Why or why not?

SH: Well, I would think that ALL my workouts help build the superhero physique! But, for those of you who are looking for a structured plan to build muscle and strength we did launch our SHREDDED 12 Week Transformation Challenge in January and you can join anytime!  Check it out and get started today!

JE: If you had the chance to meet with a fitness aficionado who wants to work in the professional fitness industry, what advice would you share with them?

SH: I would tell them to be themselves and focus on quality content.  Right now, it seems like everyone is doing whatever they can for LIKES and COMMENTS on their social media and 99% of the time it is content for shock value and not educational or helping anyone reach their goals.  If you get in this game to help people, make sure you stick to that plan.
