Jacob’s Eye On…The Voice: Season Four’s Top 16

By: Jacob Elyachar

The Voice kicks off its Live Rounds this week with three all-new episodes.

I provided an in-depth look to each of the teams to determine which team is the strongest, who are their MVPs and which three artists have a chance to win the Universal Music Group recording contract and to be named The Voice of Season Four.

Team Adam

The Maroon 5 front man has the best team out of all of the coaches this season.  All four of his ladies (Adam’s Angels) have been lauded for their impressive vocals and showmanship from their respective Blind Auditions to the Knockout Rounds.   The MVPs on Adam’s team are Judith Hill and Sarah Simmons.   Many fans have stated that either Judith or Sarah could easily help get a trip to the finale and possibly…another championship.

Team Shakira

Going into the Battle Rounds, it seemed like viewers mistakenly overlooked Shakira’s team.   However, the “Whenever, Wherever” singer made two plays that put her in the top half of the coaches’ leaderboard.   She stole two powerhouse singers Karina Iglesias and Sasha Allen from Team Adam and both have made through to the Live Rounds.    Garrett Gardner and Kris Thomas have a lot to work to do if they need to continue to impress their coach because the newbies have come out swinging.

Team Usher

Usher has decided to diversify with his team by selecting model Josiah Hawley, quirky pop rocker Michelle Chamuel, soul man VEDO and aspiring Latina diva Cáthia to represent him in the Live Rounds.    While VEDO’s tragic back story and Hawley’s bland vocals have pushed several viewers to its limits, expect Usher’s ladies to pull out all the stops during this week in order to stay in the competition.

Team Blake The Voice Season 4 team

Team Blake’s all country team has really polarized viewers and could easily be wiped out during the first two weeks of competition. (Photo property of NBC, One Three Media & Warner Horizon Television.)

Team Blake

The two-time winning Voice coach’s desires to see a country singer win the show has really put him in a hole.  By getting rid of some of his strongest vocalists  (Christian Porter; Luke Edgemon), in favor of some mediocre singers, Blake will suffer the same fate Christina did last season and could not have a singer in the finale.   Danielle Bradbery and the Swon Brothers are the only artists on his team that have a chance to win this season.

Who should make it to the finale?

There are three singers that have the biggest chances in making it to this year’s finale: Team Adam’s Judith Hill & Sarah Simmons and Team Shakira’s Sasha Allen.   However, fans should not count out Team Usher’s Cáthia, Team Blake’s The Swon Brothers and Team Shakira’s Katrina Iglesias because the Live Rounds can change everything!
