While Sharon Osbourne’s war with the NBC Executives over her son Jack’s firing is heating up, hopefully the show’s fans will be keeping a closer eye on this year’s semi-finalists.

The competition will return next week after a two-week hiatus due to the Olympics with new shows starting with the YouTube edition on August 14-15 and the show’s annual Wild Card round on August 21-22.    So which are the acts to watch out for in the semi-finals?   You are about to find out….Right now!

This act has been one of the groups that has rekindled the show through their impressive combination of music, dance and…painting?  That’s right this Sacramento-based act has stunned the audience and the judges with their presentations that have brought paintings of Sir Mick Jagger and Ludwig Von Beethoven to life.

Edon

14-year-old Edon is one of the youngest performers left in this year’s competition. He has beautifully delivered his interpretations of several up-tempo songs including David Guetta’s two hits: “Without You” and “Titanium.”  The only way that Edon can keep the momentum going is that he continues to bring his arrangements on several new dance club classics.   It would be interesting to hear his interpretations on some of Britney Spears, Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez’s songs.

Eric Dittelman

One of the acts that has continued to astonish America is 26-year-old mind reader Eric Dittelman.   Since his Austin audition, Eric has evolved into an act to be reckoned with from the sketches to his interesting take on Deal or No Deal in the quarterfinals, he could actually be one of the acts that could make it to the Top 10.

Lightwire Theater

From their explosive first audition in Saint Louis to their unbelievable quarterfinal appearance in New Jersey,  the Lightwire Theater dance troupe continues to deliver with their performances.   Right now, the New Orleans based group is the act to beat so far into the competition.

Maurice and Shanice Hayes

The Kansas City-based father and daughter duo has brought so much joy to the stage during their performances.  Both of them will give viewers goose bumps due to their impressive vocal performances.    Now it’s up to the fans to bring them a closer step to the Top 10.

Shanice and her father did a splendid job covering Faith Hill’s “There You Be.” Click here to watch their performance: http://youtu.be/W9c7U8Zj1l4

The Scott Brothers

Another duo that has blazed the competition so far is the Scott Brothers.   This Cartoon-pop dance duo from Las Vegas has continued to charm and amuse audiences with their routines that combine creativity and slapstick that landed them straight into the semifinals.

William Close

Instrument builder William Close suffered a major loss when his house in Los Angeles burned down a couple of years ago.  But he came back stronger than ever with blazed through all three rounds on America’s Got Talent.  Now as the semifinals get closer, William will need to continue to step up to the plate and deliver another impressive performance.
