Jacob’s Eye On…America’s Got Talent season seven wild cards: Part One

By: Jacob Elyachar

On Tuesday evening, 12 previously eliminated acts will have one last chance to impress America for a shot in this season’s semifinals.

In this two-part series, which will crossover with my column on Examiner.com, I will look at all 12 acts and see who could potentially stun the country and earn a spot in this season’s semifinals.

All That America's Got Talent season seven

Clogging group All That received a second chance to impress the home viewers when Sharon Osbourne brought the group back as her first Wild Card pick for season seven. (Photo by Virginia Sherwood/NBC.)

All That

The Myrtle Beach-based all-male clogging group was the first act to get into the semifinals all thanks to Mrs. O.   During the Judges’ comments, Sharon stated that she wanted more of a Magic Mike routine instead of the piece viewers saw a couple of weeks ago.    However, Howard warned them not to listen to Sharon’s advice.  It will be interesting to see what they do on Tuesday.

Spencer Horsman

One act that continued to up his game during the competition was 26-year-old escape artist Spencer Horsman.   Every time viewers saw him perform some of these incredible stunts, we were all wondering if he was going to survive.    Spencer was invited back into the competition thanks to Howard Stern.    Now if Spencer can execute another incredible stunt, he could get into the semifinals.

Spencer’s illusion in Vegas was incredible, to see his act click here: http://youtu.be/CPoNrThS9zM

Jarrett & Raja

This is one act that the former Deal or No Deal host should have picked.  They blew their chances of winning this season with their silly routine involving the song “Singing in the Rain” failed to win America over.   Then again, Howie always believes in redemption and second chances.   Maybe. Jarrett and Raja could turn the odds in their favor if they come back and stun everyone with a terrific routine.

Cristin Sandu America's Got Talent 2012

Can Cristin Sandu overcome his nerves and present a stunt that will blow viewers away during next week’s Wild Card round? (Photo by NBC’s Virginia Sherwood.)

Lindsey Norton

Dance acts have reined supreme this year on America’s Got Talent but a majority of the dance acts’ dominance has been seen in groups and not solo dancers.    Is Lindsey Norton a great dancer? Yes.   But could she be the next $1,000,000 Vegas act? Not likely…Lindsey would work better with Uncle Nigel and the So You Think You Can Dance than with the AGT crew.     Let’s hope Sharon is not disappointed with her second pick for the Wild Card round.

Horse

What the heck was Howard Stern thinking? Horse is one of the acts that should have asked back for a second try to break into the semifinals.  The King of the Nut Shots had a hysterical audition but he should have been cut after the quarterfinals.    This is not a Vegas act and he could be sent home.

Horse’s superhero act polarized fans.  To see this performance again, click here: http://youtu.be/ebLnTrtdHOM

Cristin Sandu

The 18-year-old balancer had everything going for him.   He stunned the judges twice with his audition in San Francisco and performance in Las Vegas.   However, it was one crucial mistake during the third round that cost him a spot in the semis.   If Cristin get his nerves under control and be able to establish himself as a worthy competitor, then he would make judge Howie Mandel who brought him back into the show and America proud.
