When the clock strikes Midnight on July 20, countless of fans will begin watching the finale of Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise.   Over the past seven years, both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight have earned $1.3 billion dollars in the Global Box Office.

If The Dark Knight Rises continues to receive rave reviews from publications like the Hollywood Reporter, Time and Rolling Stone and also secure big bucks from the box office, it could reignite DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. to produce more films featuring DC Comics’ vast library of heroes.

Here are two ways that The Dark Knight Rises can bring DC Comics out of its motion picture depression:

Bring fan-favorite characters to life

While many fans enjoy seeing a Batman or a Superman film, many members of the DC Comics pantheon of heroes could become huge box office franchises.     Several characters that could be motion picture powerhouses include Wonder Woman, the Flash, Shazam, Aquaman and the Teen Titans.    Just imagine seeing Flash battling the Rogues on the silver screen or visiting Aquaman’s underwater city of Atlantis, by bringing these stories to life, it could not only reignite DC Comics’ films but fans interest in seeing these stories and more of the DC Universe.

Stop being a chicken and film

The Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy has brought in the dough and success that DC Comics has wanted, several past films including Green Lantern, Watchmen and Superman Returns barely met expectations and disappointed both comic book fans and moviegoers.  While Marvel learned from their lessons and continues to bring multiple properties to life, DC Comics is being chicken and not releasing more movies.       In order to succeed in the movie business, DC Comics need to learn from your mistakes and start beginning to research which characters would the public be interested seeing on the movie screen.

If DC Comics follow these two requests, than hopefully in a couple of years, we might see DC Comics become a dominant force in comic book adapted movies.
