Last week, everyone’s favorite TV guessing game returned! The Masked Singer started its fourth season by unmasking The Dragon, who was the iconic rapper, Busta Rhymes. Tonight, Group B entered the competition. Baby Alien, Crocodile, Gremlin, Seahorse, Serpent, and Whatchamacallit Masks all made their Masked Singer debuts!

However, for one performer, that debut was cut short in a very significant way. MJs Big Blog reported that a competitor walked away from the show. Which celebrity boldly removed themselves from the show? Did their departure cost the show panelists (Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg) a victory for the Golden Ear trophy? Read on to find out!

The Crocodile was the first masked performer to face the fans and panelists. The Crocodile grew up in Hollywood and wanted to make a big splash in the competition. He sang Bon Jovi’s “It’s My Life,” and I immediately thought of Jon Bon Jovi himself. But at the last few moments of the song, I immediately thought of another iconic rocker: Axl Rose! After the panel dropped their guesses in the Vault Train, they guessed Jon Hamm (Ken Jeong), Nick Lachey (Nicole Scherzinger), and Donnie Wahlberg (Robin Thicke and Jenny).

The Baby Alien was the next performer to enter the Masked Singer stage. In the pre-performance package, the character revealed that he was in the movies and on the Broadway stage. They sang George Michael’s “Faith,” and his soulful tone reminded me of Brian McKnight. After the panelists put their guesses in the Vault Train, the real guessing game began. Jenny guessed Ralph Macchio. Meanwhile, Nicole thought it was David Schwimmer. Meanwhile, Ken suggested Freddie Prinze, Jr. before Nick Cannon gave him his binky.

The Seahorse strutted out to the Masked Singer stage in a glorious way. The pre-performance package took them to an “OK Corral” and the Emotion Ocean. She sang “(Only Girl) in the World,” and I immediately thought of Kelly Rowland. Both Nicole and Jenny predicted that the Seahorse could win the season. The panel guessed it was either Halsey (Jenny), Hailee Steinfeld (Nicole), or Bebe Rexha (Robin).

The hairy Whatchamacallit mask shocked the entire panel with his entrance. He rapped Skee-Lo’s “I Wish,” and I immediately thought of Will Smith. The panel praised the mask’s performance, and Nicole called him a “professional performer.” Nicole guessed Swiss Beatz, and Ken suggested Damian Lillard. However, Robin assumed Tyler the Creator because of his clue package.

The Serpent Mask slithered onto the Masked Singer stage. He sang The Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).” It was one of my favorite performances of the night, and I thought it was Darius Rucker under the costume. The panel guessed John Legend (Jenny), Daveed Diggs (Ken), and Leslie Odom, Jr. (Nicole).

The Gremlin was the final performer of the evening. He performed Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me,” and the gravely, textured voice gave me chills. The Gremlin revealed that Ben E. King was his friend. Robin guessed Jerry Lee Lewis, while Jenny suggested Mickey Rourke. Ken thought the Gremlin was “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. However, the Gremlin went rogue, and he decided to take off his mask.

After breaking Masked Singer protocol, the Gremlin was Oscar-nominated Mickey Rourke!

Next week, the Group A Playoffs begin!
