Last week, Food Network Star returned with a vengeance as 12 hopefuls hoped to earn their own show on Food Network.

Unfortunately, Daniela Perez-Reyes had bad beginners luck as she was eliminated from the competition.

Who faced the chopping block tonight?  Read on to find out!

This week, the 11 remaining candidates traveled to Culver City’s Mansion at the Culver Studios to have their own version of a Burger Bash.    To make things more complicated, Alton, Bobby and Giada instructed them that they would be presenting their burger to 100 burger enthusiasts.    At the end of their presentation, the audience member would use their only token to pick the burger that they would try out.

Throughout the preparation time, all three superstar mentors advised each contestant to hone their own skills in order to pass this difficult challenge.

In addition, the 100 candidates were given dials to vote on each candidate’s potential star power.

Some candidates (Viet Pham, Stacey Poon-Kinney, Russell Jackson and Chad Rosenthal) used their mentors’ advice and pleased the audience.  While, some of the candidates lost star power with their presentations, some contenders like Chris Hodgston and Damaris Phillips were able to recover and received some tokens from the audience.

While Bob and Susie were away this week, Alton, Bobby and Giada took over the Evaluation portion of the show.  The panel advised several contestants Damaris Phillips, Lovely and Nikki Dinki to step up to the plate and deliver on their promises.

They also commented on Chad, Russell and Viet’s successes and all three of them were among the contestants were safe from elimination.

Nikki got a shock when she was told that she was in the Bottom Three with childhood obesity prevention coach Andres Guillama and private chef and model Danushka Lysek.   While the mentors thought that Nikki’s burger lacked flavor, they found that there was still hope for her.     Due to his lack of tokens and presentation skills, Andres was sent home to Waynesville, North Carolina.

Next week, it’s Chopped week and Alex Guarnaschelli helps Bobby and Alton with the judging.
