Darci Lynne Farmer returned home to the Dolby Theatre stage! Last season, Darci Lynne’s life was forever changed when Mel B pressed her Golden Buzzer during the Season 12 Judges’ Auditions.  With the help of her friends, Petunia and Oscar, she won over America’s hearts and eventually earned the $1,000,000 cash prize.

Last night, 12 acts performed for a chance to earn a spot in the Season 13 semifinals. Which acts were one step closer to inheriting Darci Lynne Farmer’s crown? Which acts were up for the Dunkin’ Save? Who needed the Judges’ Save to stay in the game? Read on to find out!

After a recap of last night that included behind the scenes footage, all 12 acts assembled on the Dolby Theatre stage. Tyra revealed three acts that were immediately in danger of going home and needed the Dunkin’ Save. The acts that were in danger of going home were Angel City Chorale, Junior New System, and Mochi! I was literally in shock when Tyra gave the news because these acts deserved to be in the finale.

Tyra also visited the Dunkin’ Lounge where she visited with Vicki Barbolak, Junior New System, and Human Fountains.  Also, the finalists also showcased their journey with Jordan Smith’s “Stand in the Light” playing in the background. Now, it was time to get down to business as We Three, the PAC Dance Team, Vicki Barbolak, Human Fountains, and Flau’jae learned their fates.  Both We Three and Vicki Barbolak became the first two semifinalists of the night!

Darci Lynne Farmer made her triumphant return to the Dolby Theatre.  Petunia, her signature rabbit, joined her on stage. The diva-like rabbit needed a break and made the audience smile. Darci Lynne Farmer matured as a performer since Tyra announced her as the Season 12 champion and she received a standing ovation from all four judges.

As Darci Lynne Farmer and Petunia exited the stage, it was time for the battle of the Golden Buzzers as Amanda Mena (Mel B) faced off against Courtney Hadwin (Howie Mandel). Luckily, Tyra revealed that both of them made it to the next round! That meant it was time for Lord Nil or Shin Lim to head home.  America decided to advance Shin Lim to the semifinals!

Despite the Dolby Theatre audience chanting Mochi’s name, Angel City Chorale earned the Dunkin Save. That meant that both Mochi and the Junior New System’s fates were in the judges’ hands.  Both Mel B and Howie voted to send through Mochi, while Heidi’s gut told her to choose Junior New System.  It all came down to Simon, who revealed that he would send the vote to America.  The country decided to send Junior New System to the semifinals!

Next week, 12 more acts including Da Republik, Noah Guthrie, Glennis Grace, Samuel J. Comroe, and the Sacred Riana will face off for America’s votes.
