South Korean boy band BTS (the Bangtan Boys) are making a huge splash in the music industry. BTS has a massive social media following with 13 million Instagram followers and 16 million Twitter followers.  The group also won two Billboard Music Awards, two iHeartRadio Music Awards, and four Radio Disney Music Awards

BTS’s arrival and performance overshadowed the 11 remaining semifinalists. Last night, several fan-favorites faltered as others stepped up their game?  Which acts advanced to the Season 13 finals? Who needed the final Dunkin’ Save and the Judges’ (Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel) Save of the season? Read on to find out!

BTS kicked off the show with “Idol,” one of their hit songs. It was amazing to see the uproar that erupted inside the Dolby Theatre. It reminded me of seeing the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC in their prime.  As BTS left the stage, it was time for a recap of last night’s performance show, which highlighted a grumpy Simon and how Aaron Crow convinced Howie to participate in last night’s performance.

Once all 11 acts appeared on the stage, Tyra revealed the three acts that were up for the Dunkin’ Save. She revealed that Glennis Grace, We Three, and Daniel Emmett were in danger of being eliminated from the competition. After the trio left the stage, we saw Mel B’s visit to the Dunkin’ Lounge. While she was there, Scary Spice spoke with Vicki Barbolak, Aaron Crow, and Brian King Joseph.  After all of the fun, it was time to learn the fates of the semifinalists.  Vicki Barbolak claimed the first spot.

Before we got more results, Heidi Klum got to trick the fans as she posed with fans and three different lookalikes of Simon, Mel B, and Howie. They also teased the upcoming 3D animated adaption of The Grinch. After the filler, it was time for more results. Both Courtney Hadwin and Brian King Joseph, who edged out Angel City Chorale, Christina Wells, and Noah Guthrie for a spot in the finale. I truly believe we have not heard the last of all three of these acts.

At the end of the evening, the Dunkin’ Save nominees learned their fate. Glennis Grace received a majority of America’s votes, which meant that Daniel Emmett’s and We Three’s fates were in the judges’ hands.  Simon kicked off the Judges’ Save and voted for Daniel. Heidi also voted for Daniel.  Mel B decided to vote for We Three, which meant that Howie had the final decision and he voted for Daniel Emmett.  In all honesty, Daniel DID NOT DESERVE TO BE VOTED THROUGH BY THE JUDGES! He is a CHRIS MANN and BRANDEN JAMES WANNABEE.  As for We Three, I hope that someone signs this incredible band because they have music that the world needs to hear!

Next week, the Season 13 finalists will battle it out for the $1,000,000 grand prize!

(Author’s Note: Due to the Jewish holiday of Kol Nidre, Jake’s Take will not be posting a recap of the Season 13 finals. But, we will be back for the Season 13 finale and results show.)
