Tonight was the most crucial night for the towns of Farmington Hills, Michigan; Asheville, North Carolina; Slapout, Alabama; and Mont Vernon, New Hampshire.

If Jena Irene, Caleb Johnson, Jessica Meuse or Alex Preston made it past this Results Night, they will receive a heroes’ welcome from their hometown!

However, for one of them, they might not receive that Heroes’ Welcome and will be cut from the competition. Which artists are one step closer to the finale at Nokia’s LA Live? Read on to find out…

The Final Four were all tense when Ryan and the judges (Harry Connick, Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban) did their dramatic entrances. After the pre-taped post show dinner, the contestants and judges agreed that Ryan should not do his “after the break” tagline during crucial results shows!

We also learned that Harry Connick, Jr. loves his beignets! Ryan gave him a tray of a dozen of New Orleans’ favorite pastry and he threw them to the audience, which made Jennifer properly yell at him for his manners. As Harry, the judges and some lucky audience members dine on the beignets, Randy recapped last night and we learned that Jena Irene was the first recipient of the hometown visit.

The second person to learn that they were visiting home was the very eager Caleb Johnson!

This left…Alex Preston and Jessica Meuse as the unofficial Bottom Two! Alex was the final person to receive the hometown visit. This meant that Jessica Meuse was the one to leave!

Jessica looked devastated as she watched her farewell reel! But, she gave a stunning cover of her original “Blue Eyed Lie” (Please sign her, Jimmy Iovine/LA Reid/Sharon Osbourne/Kara DioGuardi).

Next week, the Final Three head home for their Heroes’ Welcome!
