It is hard to believe that it has been three years since I started my blog!

On August 14, 2011, I wrote my first article as jacobelyacharjournalist.com (now known as Jake’s Take). I started my blog in hopes to bring my point of view to the World Wide Web.

Like almost everything in life, starting the blog was the easy part…. keeping up with it was a different story.

For weeks, I brainstormed different ideas to make myself stand out in the crowded blogosphere. I reached out to different people and among them were my first two interviews: Australian record producer Simmy and web personality Josh Skinner. I called my interviews: A Conversation. The purpose of A Conversation is to serve as a question-answer session with upcoming faces in a variety of fields ranging from the recording industry to the fitness world.

In addition, I began to turn my love for performance based Reality TV shows into a quest for interviews. Over the past three years, I am very fortunate to have interviewed alumni from America’s Got Talent, Dancing with the Stars, Food Network Star, So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef, The Voice and X Factor USA. They represent the best that the Millennial Generation has to offer.

When I was not hunting for the crème-de-la-crème from the far corners of a lifestyle column, I began a semi-weekly column called New Music Releases. I always make the effort to carry a balance between music legends, Top 40 favorites and up-and-coming new acts. I have had the privilege to review superb records from Tony Bennett’s Duets II and Dolly Parton’s Blue Smoke to American Authors’ Oh, What a Life to Will Champlin’s Borrowing Trouble throughout the past three years.

Since I started CrossFit in 2012, I went outside my comfort zone and went after interviews with some of the fittest people in the world! I also learned several important lessons from them. Fit2fat2fit’s Drew Manning taught me to see challenges through, no matter how impossible the odds may seem! HitchFit (and WBFF World Champions) Micah and Diana Chaloux Lacerte taught me about the power of a positive attitude. YouTube icons Scott Herman, Nick Wright and Olympus Iron’s Bob Arcand taught me to use social media to my advantage and to always satisfy my audience.

I want to thank my countless mentors (Drew, Micah, Diana, Scott, Josh, Rob Low, Tess Koppelman, Don Champion, Anne Trujillo, Christine Chang, Amanda Kost, Jace Larson, Kirk Montgomery, Will Ripley, Julie Cortes, Diane Schmidt, Rick Stasi, Jane Blumenthal Martin, Kent Speakman and James White) for being my sounding boards and superb guides.

Also, I would not be in this position without the support of three very important people! My parents, Gloria and Matthew Elyachar, and my brother, Aaron, always encouraged me to follow my dreams and help me evolve as a writer!

Finally, I want to say a massive “Thank You” to you…my faithful readers! Your support on social media and visits to my blog always make me smile! I hope that you continue to join me on this incredible journey!

All the best!

Jacob
