Last night, six artists gave it their all to secure a place in next week’s Final Five Live Shows.

At this stage in the competition, we have seen fan favorites such as Frenchie Davis, Jamar Rogers, Amanda Brown and Judith Hill surprisingly eliminated from the show.  So was a frontrunner eliminated tonight?

In addition it was the last time fans used The Voice instant save. Who were the Bottom Two artists that needed your tweets to remain in the competition?

Your Voice recap starts…right now!

Former Team Blake advisor Kelly Clarkson returned to The Voice stage and brought the Christmas spirit to the show.  After singing “Underneath the Tree,” Carson helped Kelly promote her December 11 NBC special that features the three-time winning coach as a guest star.

Once the show’s crew took down the set and Carson chatted it up with the coaches, Tessanne Chin teamed up with Team Xtina (Jacquie Lee and Matthew Schuler) to perform a cover of Florence + the Machine’s “You’ve Got the Love” that showed off a lot of vocal gymnastics.

As the trio hugged, Carson began to slowly reveal who were the Final Five members of the Season Five cast.  First, he revealed that America saved Team Christina’s Jacquie Lee! Once the diva-in-training received a hug from her mentor, Blake welcomed back Season One’s Xenia to perform a heartfelt “Silver Bells.”

After a hysterical Voice confessional that focused on other career paths and before everyone arrived on the show, Carson revealed that Cole Vosbury would continue to represent Team Blake in next week’s semi-finals!

Cole returned to the stage to join forces with Team Adam’s James Wolpert and Will Champlin to perform Extreme’s hit “More Than Words” alongside Extreme frontman Nuno Bettencourt, who accompanied the guys on guitar.  I liked that the guys had a chance for a solo and Nuno’s presence helped them shine as performers.

The last two artists that were saved by America’s votes were Team Adam’s Tessanne Chin and Will Champlin! This left America to decide the fate of James Wolpert and Matthew Schuler! In the end, it was James that was saved (expect a harsher critique from me next week, James) and Matthew (who should have been in the finals) was sent home!

Next week, the Final Five will duke it out for a spot in this year’s finale!
