Jake’s Take Podcasts: Voices of Service

It is an honor and privilege to welcome singing quartet Voices of Service to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.

Voices of Service’s line-up consists of Master Sgt. Caleb Green, retired Staff Sgt. Ron Henry, Sgt. Maj. Christal Rheams, and Sgt. 1st Class Jason Hanna and are a part of the nonprofit Center for American Military Music Opportunities (CAMMO). Voices of Service uses its platform to increase awareness of what music can do for men and women who are coping with post-traumatic stress and other invisible and visible wounds.

Voices of Service became household names when the quartet auditioned for America’s Got Talent (AGT): Season 14. After a powerful rendition of Katy Perry’s “Rise,” Voices of Service received four “Yeses” from series stalwarts Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel and then judges Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough. Once they passed the Judges Cuts round, the quartet took the Dolby Theatre by storm. Each week, Voices of Service delivered outstanding covers, including OneRepublic’s “Choke” and Leona Lewis’s “Footprints in the Sand” that won over the audience.

While they placed in fifth place, the group’s AGT journey was not done yet. This year, Voices of Service competed on America’s Got Talent: The Champions’ sophomore season. The quartet performed a moving rendition of Kodaline’s “Brother,” which lead them to have the opportunity to collaborate with Kodaline on a live stream on May 1, 2020.

In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Voices of Service spoke about their time on AGT and America’s Got Talent: The ChampionsThe quartet also talked about their latest extended play: Rise

  1. I truly love these guys and what they stand for.
Of course I am a little bias because C. Green is my cousin.
But I truly fell in love with the group!
